    Default Development Issue #21

Adding a New Faction (Image Comes from Hegemony City-states Team)

    Rasna

According to legend, there was a period between 600 BCE and 500 BCE, in which an alliance was formed between twelve Etruscan settlements, known today as the Etruscan League, Etruscan Federation, or Dodecapoli. The Etruscan League of 12 cities was founded by two Lydian noblemen.

The Etruscans, like the contemporary cultures of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, had a significant military tradition. In addition to marking the rank and power of certain individuals in Etruscan culture, warfare was a considerable economic boom to Etruscan civilization. Like many ancient societies, the Etruscans conducted campaigns during summer months, raiding neighboring areas, attempting to gain territory and combating piracy as a means of acquiring valuable resources such as land, prestige, goods, and slaves. It is also likely that individuals taken in battle would be ransomed back to their families and clans at high cost. Prisoners could also potentially be sacrificed on tombs as an honor to fallen leaders of Etruscan society, not unlike the sacrifices made by Achilles for Patrocles.

Culture that is identifiably Etruscan developed in Italy after about 800 BC approximately over the range of the preceding Iron Age Villanovan culture. The latter gave way in the 7th century to a culture that was influenced by Hellenic Magna Graecian and Phonecian contacts. After 500 BC, the political destiny of Italy passed out of Etruscan hands.

A very amateur work but i made the image to look like this, i think it will serve the mod well and thanks to the HEG Team.

Their capital will be Velzna, that is on the most western part of the map.
Unfortunately we will not be able to represent the other Eleven cities of the League, but we will make the city of Velzna incredably rich; to represent the wealth from all twelve cities.

How rich? I'd be worried about them being OP compared to other western factions and overtaking them.

Bithynian Mercenaries (Hegemonia City-states Original Work)

    Bithynioi Chereki:

The Bithynian Thracians live in the northwest part of Asia Minor and had settled there after they crossed over to Asia coming from Thrace. They wear on their heads fox-skin caps, the so called "alopekis", and they are dressed and equipped like the Thracian peltasts typically are.

Faction symbols looks great. Avanti will be the new Indian faction replacing Magdha? I very glad of the decision to add Etruscans as the last faction instead of planed Syracuse. NO mather how important Syracuse was, it would have been another greek faction in the mod which have alredy enought of them. How much work you still plan to add until 3.0 could be in releasable shape? Have you considered adding Hegemonia CS battle map buildings?

Theres still many things that need to be added to the mod before even be calling a beta.
What is the CS battle buildings?
Avanti will replace the Magadha because the magadha are on the eastern most side of india, a place that doesn't appear in the map. And at this time period the Magadha were a vassal to the Avanti; only in the 5 century bc that Magadha stop being vassals and became the masters.

I'm very happy to see progress being made on this mod. I've been awaiting it with eager anticipation. I love the faction symbols. I previously wasn't in favor of adding new factions in the west such as the Etruscans because I figured that that region is on the periphery of the focus of this campaign, but it will be interesting if you can make the Etruscan faction unique and I'm curious to see how it would work out.

    Default Development Issue #24

    Generals

I tought of making some factions having the abillity of their generals having different types of units.
    For Example:

This Elite unit that is recruitable can be a general now.

    Kiškuttŭ (Babylonian Unit)

The unit below is a general unit that now can be recruited as a elite unit..

    Qadmdu Ala (Lydian Unit)

The order to which the unit is choosen as a general i think its at random.
Whend a son comes of age or you accept someone to your family the unit will be choosen randomly

Can I suggest this for the Spartan faction symbol?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Lambda didn't come into use until the Peloponnesian Wars when the Perioikoi started using it as a sign of unity and the Spartiates subsequently followed suit.

Yes, there will be hyrcanian hillmen.
The Old Persian symbol was the symbol of Cyrus army, not the faction itself.

I'm assuming from the names on the icons that v3 will probably be using the English names for the various factions rather than trying to go for native names?
