Beautiful units and wise choices, good job.
Hyrcanian Mercenaries (Europa Barbarorum Original Work)
The Hyrcanians, by the time of the Achaemenids, are already renown for their cavalry prowess. Kűrus himself used this type of cavalry on many occasions; all the way to Alexandros of Makedonia, these cavalry were seen as a great unit to have around.

Some units on the mod will have two weapons; for example:
The primary weapon of the Kemet Pharaoh Guard will be a kopesh, instead of the spear; and the secondary weapon is the spear.
Now, for all of these types of units, whend they charge it doesn't matter wich type of weapon you chose, they will always use the spear to charge, because in this mod the spear units have a bonus when charging.
Whend in combat, some soldiers will use the primary weapon, while the others use the secondary.
Like the image bellow, i have chosen to attack with the primary weapon, the kopesh. The majority will use it, but some will remain with the spear that they used to charge.
Great Job guys, I really like ROP 1st time I played it was 6 years ago and i really enjoyed it, but please don't get me wrong - I really appreciate you work- but the Graphic is very outdated compared to other mods, it slightly better than the vanilla but still look very old
I personally enjoy a game not much for its graphics but for its gameplay mechanics.
You can look for yourself Rome 2, it has good graphics, but the gameplay mechanics are not improved; and in some aspects they are even worse than the first Rome.
Karian Hoplites (ROP Original Work/ Sickle made by Hegemonia Team)
Thanks to Milner, for helping with the textures, my favorite unit in the game now has a sickle to fight!
He will have both weapons; the spear and the sickle.
This unit will have a bonus fighting cavalry.
The Hoplites from Karia are traditionally credited with the invention of the proud plumage displayed from bronze helmets of the era. The bright decoration of the Karian helm earned them the nickname of “Cocks” by the Persians because of the pride in their appearance.
These hoplites are not ethnically Greek but Herodotus describes them as vastly similar to the Hellenes. However the Karians also implement the deadly sickle as a secondary weapon used against cavalry. The heavy curved blade is ideal for chopping and slashing away at cavalry, unseating the rider and leaving him exposed or trampled underfoot. With the combination of a phalanx and the lethal sickle the Karians are the ultimate in anti – cavalry infantry.
Baktrian Nomads (ROP Original Work)
The vast majority of these Bactrian nomads favour the bow to devastate the enemy from afar before escaping on their swift mounts before any harm can be returned. They also carry an armour piercing Sagaris axe in case they get caught in a melee. They might be lightly armed but their axes still pack a punch.
These noble classes amongst the nomads have access to fine corslets of armour and sturdy spears to carry them right into the heart of the action against the enemy. But the bow remains the ultimate weapon on the steppe and no soldier would be so foolish as to go to war without one.
Kappadocian Mercenaries (Hegemonia City-States Original Work)
According to Herodotos the Syrians who lived in east Asia Minor were called by the Persian as Kappadocians. They are equipped similar to the the Paphalagonians wearing woven or bronze helmets and carry short spears, daggers and shields.
Phoenician Mercenaries (Hegemonia City-States Original Work)
The Phoenicians are true sea dogs and their marines who crew the decks of their cargo and military ships are expected to be some of the best around.
Creete, Rhodos and the others that you said i don't think they are around at this time period; or at least were not reknown.
If you please can go and see my development issue #11 you will se that its changed the preview inside that post.
Its showing the new wallpapers for the mod.
