Can some bronies explain this ? ( brony convention)

I watched this and I am completely lost and confused.
Basically the video name says it all, it's an incredible dose of cringiness (is that a word?).

I am asking this here because the MLP fans here seem the complete opposite of the people in this video, not that much bothered by those either. I just have to satisfy my curiosity.

Why, why is everybody in the video so...ugh... "eccentric" and has all this to do with MLP (I think I haven't seen a single pony in this video).

Well, there's good conventions and bad conventions... I would not enjoy myself at that one, I guess, won't stop them from having fun I guess. As any community, there are a whole range of people in it, and yes, when I go on to look at pony art, there are some things that are not to my liking.

I think those guys are a tad 'eccentric; because they have latched to the show completely, MLP is their alpha and omega; those are the die-hard fans...

Ok I did not wach more than a few secs of the vid before (Awkwardness annoys me). I watched a few more and... All the crap I said before + free shots maybe?

Many of them don't look like they are 18+, some of them are even bellow 14.
But then again law has never stopped kids from getting drunk/high.

It's a get-together of a bunch of adults and teenagers who are all obsessed with a TV show made for 7 year old little girls...what else were you expecting?

BTW, i wouldn't be surprised if you ran some background checks on the adults there and came back with a few sex offender red flags. I'm guessing a couple of them were violating terms of theiir probation....

But yeah I never got that "sex-offender" thingie, it may just be because that it just a mud-throw from people who dislike the show or just the idea that a kid show can entertain adults to. And I am 100% sure that I can find some weird stuff from other cons. So no real news there.

I haven't watched kids TV in years, so I'm not sure what shows are out there that are aimed specifically at male children, but I would be equally freaked out if I saw a bunch of adult women who weren't the mothers of the little boys at an Action Man convention, wearing Action Man outfits, having Action Man fanfic romances, and outnumbering the little boys.
