    Apparently compatible with DeI.

    Please note I have not tested it myself yet and therefore I cannot personally endorse it.

    I thought more DeI users should be aware of this mod so I am simply posting the link.

    im using this mod for over 150 turns nowno conflict with other mods at all .

    i advise you to make an settings.txt in Total War Rome II\data\campaigns\main_rome". and use:
    DefensiveBattlesOnly
    NoVisualRestriction

    Great mod, really does it's job, propably only mod that actually makes major factions major

    Thanks for the tip. But why defensive battles only? wouldn't that restrict the major factions progress? do you think they progress too much without it? (I didn't think that was possible!!)

    if it’s off allot the minor factions will be destroyed in a few turns. I’m now on 165 turns. and the map is like this. there are still minor factions defending there city from large invasions.

    1: chartage almost destroyed be me
    2: egypt controls egypt
    3: seluecid controls syeria and more
    4: pontus most of Pontus area satrapy’s of Seleucid still alive.
    5: Macedonia controles Macedonia and Sparta and athenea are cliënt stage
    6: Gauls allot of France and parts of spain.
    7: Seubi controles most part of Germain and still batteling with boii

    I think Selea should integrate with main mod. This is a must because after 15-20 turns Syrcause destroys Carthage .

    The main reason we haven't used this is that it gives a static result for most campaigns. Many users will like this because it ensures the same empires survive, but some want a different campaign experience each time.

    Since the mod is fully compatible with DeI, having it be optional is the best course of action at the moment.

    Yes, I agree. This mod is great, but it takes out some random stuff. And I love random campaigns

    For me it is same as icons, depends on a player Plus, how much work does it take to make thoes two, three clicks to use submod? No mercy for lazy people

    in windows click on right mouse button search New/ Text document. place in this text document DefensiveBattles and OnlyNoVisualRestriction and safe as settings. make sure its a txt file and txt is not included in the name but just as extension.

    place this in the folder. standard:
    Steam/Steamaps/Total War Rome II\data\campaigns\main_rome

    easy speecy. after the first turn there will be a log file created in the main_rome folder. open this log file and see if defensivebattles en novisuel is enabled. then your good 2 go.

    Because there is an option to customise which factions are considered "major" (via use of a .txt file - see mod home page for further details) all one has to do is to create a random .txt file generator to ensure the campaigns aren't static. The user simply must not look at the text file after its automatic generation..... alternatively just get a friend/family to make customise the .txt file for you

    I'm about to give this mod a shot in my Iceni restart. Although I do like the random nature of faction survival, the Suebi got wiped in less than 5 turns in my last campaign, and I want to face them and my new roster. Thanks for this Mitch!

    You can do that easily by just changing the scripts accordingly. No need to create a .txt file.

    I will look into making something similar (albeit done differently, as for example with more random - instead of fixed, as in the mod - outcomes for battles while retaining a majority of won ones for the major factions) after 0.9 is out.

    I like the concept, it is just that I personally feel that the way it is done by Mitch it is too static and for this I will revisit it in my personal way (I will also approach the scripts differently).

    It's only that this must wait for after 0.9. It can be it will be done for 0.95 or for 1.0

    Could it be posible to use this concept to fix the autoresolve system?, I mean instead of search for major or minor faction search the real strenght of the army or give some handicap

    Im using it now in my game. and it makes the campaign som much more fun. I think that the "Sandbox" was also not that random, a lot of the same factions were destroyed in almost every time i started a new campaign. Now the bigger factions are for the first time still alive and they are big!

    Love to see Selea make a variation of it cant wait to check that out.

    This mod should be a must addition. Started two campaigns with Iceni and Rome and in both Saka Rauka steamrolled half of Europe.
    Any chance for a non workshop version link? There is one in the original thread but it doesn't work.
