Unlike Europe, armoured musketmen persisted for longer in the colonies because Natives lacked firearms. Also unlike Europe pikemen disappeared sooner and the flintlock musket was introduced earlier (except Spanish empire where matchlock was preferred weapon). More units will follow in later releases.
The units below do not include various generic units available in Europe aswell such as pikemen. For historical reasons, European factions cannot recruit cavalry in the colonies except Spain.
French Canadian infantry (early) were known to have used burgonets.:
