Ok, thanks for the detailed description.
Did you install over a previous 0.34/0.44 version? If yes, please delete the auto-saves and quick-saves, contained in the save folder, and try anew, to start either a real title save game, or just a new game. As said, the auto-/quick-save CA function is buggy.
If you installed on a fresh RTW 1.5, and a new campaign start with England will lead as well to this end turn ctd, we have to investigate this then serious ctd-bug as far as it is possible.
Thanks for reporting and in advance for the report back.
And another tipp, if you are able to bother with files contained in the chivalry folder, then do the following:
Open chivalry/data ... text folder ... then the files export_units.txt and export_buildings.txt ... search there for any text errors like this for example:

Large stone walls are substantial with strong towers and gatehouses. Delete all those errors, if you have them in the above files. They shouldn't be there, as the uploaded files are complete de-bugged, but in our experience, those can be self-producing errors for some strange reason. A ctd guarantee is, if they are in the command-lines within the clamps.
