I am working with Golfthai from moddb.com on additional event images. Also some of the Gustavus Reforms will be included in the gameplay. Swedish soldiers in the 30 yrs war received stakes called "swinefeathers" as standard issue, in part because Sweden had a pike-shortage in the early 1600s which hurt them against Polish lancers in the Livonian War.
Also pistol cavalry will be able to fire while moving during a cavalry charge.

Hi when will you release the next update and what will be the new features?
Apologies for delays. I was more or less ready to upload a few days ago when I encountered a bug I wasnt able to fix. Thankfully I had made backups to resume from so its just a matter of putting the files back in from scratch. I hope it will be ready this week. Also I was in hospital recently as I was briefly unable to walk (trapped nerve) so I wasn't able to work on the mod. But expect the mod in a couple of days.
For the forthcoming release, subject to the limitations of the game engine, I have tried to take account of military tactics as they evolved in the 17th century.
- Generic "cavalry" regiments (except harquebusiers/carabiniers, lancers and bow cavalry) will have pistols (early matchlocks, late cavalry with flintlocks) which they can also fire during a cavalry charge. This is to emulate Gustavan tactics of firing during the charge (as opposed to the caracole where you cantered forward, stopped, fired, and then retreated for the next line to do the same).
- Swedish infantry will start with the "deploy stake" function. This also reflects Gustavan tactics of using stakes known as "Swinefeathers" (at first due to a Swedish shortage of pikes). Some German factions such as Saxony and Austria will also have this function for line infantry recruited at later buildings.
- Late Swedish infantry will not have the bayonet (except for grenadiers).
- Austria will not have flintlock infantry except grenadiers. This reflects a literary source that the introduction of the flintlock was extremely slow in this faction, and that they entered the WSS with mostly matchlock muskets. However late cavalry will have flintlocks. Other factions will have a mix of late matchlocks and late flintlocks. Late Austrian dragoons will be mix of armoured and unarmoured (based on sources) but generic cavalry will have armour.
- Some new units including Balkan stradiot mercenaries, Spanish royal halberdiers, some Saxon units (Goldstein, Schlieben, Schlestein regts), Catalan revolt units, couple of English units like Horseguard Grenadiers .
- Poland and France will have buffcoated cavalry recruitable about halfway through the tech-research tree. I'm linking late units to late technology, mid century to mid-technology etc.
- More factions enabled for custom battles. For "Late" battles the artillery gunners will use different models.
- Some late general models.
- Icon/Info pictures fixes.
- Saxony and Wurttemberg will be Protestant as historically.
