The only file in C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts should be user.empire_script. The only files listed in the user.empire_script files should be:

mod "Col_music.pack";
mod "Col_loc_en.pack";
mod "Col_scripts.pack";

Make sure you've deleted anything to do with other mods, including previous installations of Colonialism 1600AD from the Data folder. Also its possible that if you are having problems, there may be some files lying around in there that you havent noticed.

Hi Geronimo2006 its the same with me I can only recruit puckel gun I have a completely fresh install deleted all previous files. BTW this new version or update there are NO historical portraits of generals nor admirals not even agents as there was in the previous version. Did you take those portraits out fro this new version?? Also the agent models in the campaign map are vanilla but in previous versions you had changed those to 17th century models. Is there any reason for this...? Thank you in advance.
BTW your own download that you had us do is missing the "Col_scripts.pack"; so maybe that is what the problem is...???

I unistalled the game and deleted all the files remaining, including in the "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire" folder.
Maybe we should wait and see what napoli23 and tombergr have to say, since they are experiencing the same problem.
In my experience using DMUC years ago I recall it was difficult to delete all the files.

Only if they are in other folders that i do not know about.
I can confirm, as I have already mentioned that the new update can only produce artillery in Sweden and Russia! Also significant funding for Sweden, Prussia and Poland are still uncomfortable Indian music in the background ..
Okay I have re-uploaded to the OP of the Download thread. So let me know if it works for you now.
Regarding moddb.com I am having problems uploading to moddb.com. So I have uploaded to mediafire instead.

Possibly. 1609 was when the first English colonies were founded in Continental North America (other than the aborted Roanoke Colony in the 1580s).
On the Indian music in Europe, I have no solution to that at present but theres 17th century European music too on the campaign map.
