Some screenies from my long-running Baktrian campaign.
Some of the earlier fighting against the Seleucid satrapies in the east:

Fighting the satrapies was hard, and took long enough that the Parthians were able to more or less conquer most of Iran proper and prevent any further expansion south to the Indian Ocean or west (Part of the reason the map in Rome2 so frustrates me is because of this. What if I wanted to hellenize China or India dammit (ok not China but a decent chunk of India's in the map that they could've just populated a bit)). It would be another 20 years before I considered marching into Parthia (I finalized my conquests of the satrapies just after 250 after beginning around 260). It took 3 armies to take them all out, and before they were finally dead they nearly re-established their presence in Drangiana, as they surprised two of my armies and wiped them out. It was possibly one of the most impressive counter-offenses that I've seen in TW, and would've actually made a different had the Royal Army under Diodotos not been nearby to respond in overwhelming and determined force

After pacifying Drangiana and Arachosia, I heavily built up my infrastructure and food supply, and merely bid my time until I felt an opportune moment to blitz across Iran. I also casually sent an army up to Scythia - the Thyssagetae were weak opponents and never expanded, so that's another provincial capital that was easy pickings, and you can see I have a spy up by the Rauxsa-alanna - I would later make them my vassals, as in my play through it's the Baktrian's responsibility to tame the steppe - ie lebensraum the **** outta it. I'm still up in the air if I just want to extinguish them entirely, so I'm making them pay me while I consider it

Currently I'm five years into my invasion of Parthia, but that's for a later post

Looking forward to the next progress report with pictures. I'm guessing that once or if you defeat Parthia, Seleukidai will present a much more difficult challenge.
In my campaign, Rome expands into Dalmatia and takes the capital of the Daorsi in a epic fight.

I wasn't talking about any mod in particular.
Having started a campaign in Dalmatia, my forces were brought back swiftly to defend Rome from a sudden and treacherous invasion by the Insubres. Having entered a good diplomatic and friendly position with this tribe, and gifted them regular money to keep them happy, they suddenly send 3 stacks of warriors southwards into Roman territory.
After defeating the first two stacks in a very costly encounter, my army faced the third on the battlefield greatly outnumbered. The battle opened with thick fog, I couldn't see a thing. So I arranged my troops in defensive lines with their backs against a small village, the only discernible feature. In was a thrilling battle, as the Celts came rushing through the fog. With each warrior slain another shadow would step forwards out of the fog to take their place, for what seemed an endless onslaught. Roman fortitude in the end won the day and the tide of the Insubres was broken in those thick mists of the Roman Po valley.

I wish I had taken more screenshots of this battle, but I got interrupted halfway through and when I came back I forgot to.
This was my first large battle in this campaign. An army led by Ptolemy himself traveled South to pacify Aethiopia. The first region was taken easily, but the other two were controlled by Axum. With his confidence buoyed by the first easy victory, Ptolemy rushed the Axumites with little care for their numbers.
Which is how I ended up fighting a battle with my 9000 troops against their 17,000~ or so.
Initially, it was an easy battle. However, as I mentioned before, I had to leave in the middle of the fight, and when I came back, I had thoughtlessly forgotten about all the reinforcements coming in. I overextended my lines and ended up losing nearly half my force. They just kept coming, I couldn't stem the tide! I won, but I lost so many I had to withdraw.

I normally like seeing all the battle action with no darkness, no matter how unrealistic it is. When I started this crucial battle to have all this dense fog, my heart sank. However, it made for some great realistic battle action and I won a magnificent victory.
I have a GeForce GTX 650Ti BOOST GPU (an old but great card) and everything turned on ultra with unlimited memory setting. I had issues with system lag recently, because I have doubled the unit size in DeI to give epic battles. But since buying more RAM, have had no problems which spoil the enjoyment of the game.
The graphic mods I'm playing are:
