Working fine, rebooted system and now nothing works?

Hello,

I have loved playing this mod since it was first released. I have been able to return to gaming finally after a couple years, and gave 3.5 a whirl after a clean install of Empire.

Everything worked fine. I then shut down my laptop (windows 7). Upon turning it on today, letting steam load and then running the launcher I get a CTD on start up. It also re-copies all the packs (even though it was already loaded) and then says "you are ready to start Empire manually. Please do not close the launcher!" It was running from the launcher last time I played it and started the game. I am pretty confused. I also cannot even run Empire normally. I double click the empire shortcut and get a immediate CTD.

It also takes a considerably longer time copying all the packs.

No clue what's going on.

Reinstall everything?

Try another reboot first. If nothing, maybe a reinstall will be needed.
