Druchii-What am I doing wrong?
Let me first start that I've been intensively playing Total War games ever since Medieval Total War I. I'm also a big warhammer fan, and own a Dark Elf army, so it was that I really wanted to try out this mod (the Rage of the Dark Gods version).
However, after 12 re-tries, even on Easy / Easy, I keep getting bankrupt and slowly killed off. There is no feeling of progression, other than I keep losing slowly until I can't do anything anymore. I've tried different tactics, hit and run, sack & colonise, slow progression, nothing seems to work. I keep on getting bankrupt, and then slowly killed off, and that even on the easiest settings.
There must be something I'm completely missing, as I see on the forums that people enjoy playing with these guys, and even playing over 50 turns, where I nearly always strand around 20 -30. Can anyone help this poor druchii commander with some basic tips. I've even downloaded the expansion druchii stuff too to see if it was easier, but it's still the same story. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
an exiled Druchii Commander (Malekith wants my head because of losing so much)

Hey there,
There are some guides about this faction here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...o-CoW-Factions
I'm doing a campaign myself with them but I modded my files to my personal taste so I can't really help you with that except for some of the basic tips which are already in the faction guide.
Goodluck!
PS: Don't let Malekith find you.

Re: Druchii-What am I doing wrong?
My main source for income for the Druchii early game was sending an army (via my navy) to Empire territories, quickly taking them, destroying every building (except unique ones) and leaving. If you're good with sieges this can be a good way to earn income and soften up the Empire for later conquest. Also, you will get prompts to enter an alliance with a Chaos faction of your choice: choose Slaanesh. Slaanesh will have a territory right next to yours and, as such, serve as a buffer against Nurgle (who have a territory immediately east of the Slaanesh colony.
As for expansion, I took out the Asur's main spawn point (which is directly south of the Druchii's northernmost city) and the two cities east of said settlement (one of them will belong to Tzeentch). This will give you control of the southern half of Norsca (the banana shaped land mass in the middle of the map that is nestled between the two seas) and a good place to establish a war machine for invasions against the Empire. You will have to deal with Nordland naval attacks, but a well-prepared navy and defensive force should handle that. As for the Wastelands, Tzeentch usually dies off soon after taking out their city in South Norsca and Slaanesh should help weaken the Nurgle forces. Have at least one spy in Nurgle's Wasteland territory and, when you feel they are weak enough, finish them off to establish a future economic hub: the four Chaos capitals bring in a good amount of cash and, once the Chaos factions are no longer a problem, they won't really suffer from many attacks.

SudoKnight Do you know if Chaos Undivided maintains alliances with the druchii/chaos dwarves?
I've wondered how hard they would be down the line if you allow Slaanesh to grow unhindered.

Re: Druchii-What am I doing wrong?
During my campaign with the Empire, Dark elves and Chaos Undivided broke/lost their alliance while they kept their alliance with the Chaos Dwarves and gained an alliance with Beastmen. They are a challenge.
