    Default [BETA] Script Pack Download and Instructions

    This pack is not available on Steamworkshop as it requires more than just clicking subscribe.

    To ensure that people read and follow the installation instructions properly I've created a separate thread for it.

    This pack is optional. The mod will work without it.

    Installaion and Download Link
    1) Download the script pack from source forge https://sourceforge.net/projects/r2m.../Magnar%20Mod/

    2) Extract the contents of the pack to Rome 2/Data folder

    3) Select the script pack from the mod manager when you play.


    Included Scripts

    Punic War Scrip
    For Carthage and Rome: If either go to war or tresspass against Syracuse, then the other should declare war.

    Roman Socii Etruscan Script
    Rome: If Rome defeats the Etruscans then Rome can recruit 2 new Etruscan Socii units.

    Iberian Reform Script
    Rome and Carthage: If either capture 3 Iberian provinces, then all celtibarian and Iberian factions will get a more united roster
    Iberian or Celtibarian Faction: If one of these factions owns 6 or more regions in Iberia, the united roster reform will trigger.

    If there is only 1 Iberian or Celtibarian faction remaining, the reform will also trigger.

    There seems to be a number of bugs with this script pack. So consider it a early beta version.

    maybe just setting Rome and Syracuse as defensive allies at the start, you'll soon be asked to go to war with Carthage

    wont have the desired result as it has to go both ways, if rome declares on syracuse or if carthage does

    Does the script view the shared sea as territory?

    i dont think it takes the sea into account. though im not sure 100%

    Two things :
    1. What are the names of the 2 Etruscan Socii units?
    2. Is the script with punic wars supposed to come up after every turn ? Does in my current campaign...

    The scripts are not working properly atm

    the unit names are
    Socii Hastatorum Etruscorum
    Socii Peditum Etruscorum



    but i dont think they are working

    Those units show in my recruit options but it says restricted to prolog so I can not actually recruit them, seems like a cool concept though.

    That is strange indeed. Im pretty sure its a script bug but the scripts wont be fixed till much later as our scripter has left and other areas are more of a priority for me to start scripting just yet.

    Just a little more feedback, I started a new campaign and both of those units are available as soon as an auxiliary barracks is built...

    I tested srcipts yesterday with 12 live and, again, war with Cartago is permanent

    Yes scripts are broken and wont be fixed for some time. I recommend not using them for now.

    Why would you need to download these separately? Doesn't DeI have scripts that work just through the workshop?

    Because these have bugs and are not polished and it is actually best not use them atm. Also these allow for debugging

    Oh, right! I thought it was a limitation with R2TW modding... thanks for the quick reply!

    I'm really convinced that once/if (hopefully the former) we get music, campaign map and battle map modding, Rome 2 will be the most versatile TW game for modding yet.

    Well the limitation with the modding is that it wont write a debug file unless the text file already exists.

    so having it separately downloadable means we can get them to add the log text doc as well
