Formations - lne astern/abreast and grand battery etc

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Japanese-named formations in land and naval battles (e.g. Crane's Wing, Three Day Old Moon) and the non-Japanese ones assigned to the same keys (e.g. Cavalry Heavy Right, Line Astern)?

Usually it's always the Japanese ones that show up in the formation panel during the battle. When are the other ones available?

The ones with japanesse name are for the shogun 2 campaing .. the others for the fots campaing
