I'm shocked that you hold the same political view as many in my country.

A powerful, charismatic and able politician wouldn't give about people because he simply doesn't have to. All politicians are s, driven by greed and lust of power and wealth; the only difference is that some have to do good because they hope to gain something by doing so, while others don't. It's the situation that makes them different, not their character or capabilities.
