Yeah, people might question my life style if they find out about those intricate details.
I've decided to switch from getting a Classic's degree (because the Classics department sucks balls) to a major in History and a minor in Politics. Much more useful job wise than a Classics degree in any case.
Anyone watching the rugby?

If you do become a history teacher, please do not overuse power points. Also use some Total war footage to
show case some battles.
It's intense. Damn Sexton, he picks this match of all matches to start ing up his kicks.

Indeed, avoid powerpoints like the pest. I never use them, but most professors do. I consider it a lazy way of teaching. It makes you feel secure and comfortable as a prof, but it inhibits students' note-taking skills and actively processing the material as it hits you. I always use traditional lecturing methods, using the board and my voice. I start by outlining today's lecture on the board, and then I give the lecture.
But I don't think I'd ever use TW footage in class. In fact, I can't recall, in my entire academic career, ever having talked about a single battle in a seminar or while teaching.
I used Total war footage to show them my fellow students how battles went (you know keep them awake for like
5 sec when I was tutoring them to help them get a better grade, but no their too en retarded to remember).
half the things I tell them to remember cause their likely to be on the quiz

Perhaps not such a bad idea. I have noticed that students tend to remember sensational things. Students today have media-mindsets. They are wired in such a way to take in information that is somehow sensational. For example, on one exam, almost every single student, for some strange reason, mentioned in their essays how this one student protester was found dead with a tear gas canister stuck in his head, even though this piece of information was not crucial at all to writing the essay.
COME ON THE LADS!!!
What a send off for BoD!

I actually did teach history class before when I was in high school. The teacher had me do all sorts of presentations and even had me write the quizzes.
My one friend used some footage from Medieval 2 for one of his presentations though. And I disagree, power points are awesome assuming they have the right information, it's way better than looking at a boring sheet or black board.
But I'm not sure I want to get a teaching job, sounds eewy. I would like to write though. Who knows, I guess I'll just have to wit till it happens for me to know what I will do.
The madness of this. This is the first win O'Connell seen since he began at age 22.
