Turn 131 as Iceni, got all of modern UK, France and Italy.

Also I get a 100% crash to desktop when I press end turn (after watching the AI).

So my campaign status? On raging hold.

Played a few turns with Sparta so far, mostly busy tweaking graphics. Unbelievable that I can play shogun 2 at best settings, yet rome 2 still doesnt run smooth on medium settings which look quite ugly.

Since I was already at war with Epyrus, I figured it was best to destroy them first. Started raising some troops and captured larissa first. (my first battle) Since I trained a good amount of troops right away there was not much trouble with this.
After this I faced Phyrrus in battle with his elephants in a land battle. Luckily he didnt have too many troops with him but his elephants caused some heavy casualties. The fun part of the battle was that some athenian marines joined in, they where near the shore and jumped at the chance to attack our combined enemy despite us not being allies. Not that I needed the back up, but I quite liked this detail.

After that I marched to their capital but they had a navy there with lots of troops. So I retreated. Later I didnt see their navy anymore so I attacked again and took their city. Hoped to have them destroyed, but it turned out their navy moved to Italy, and a large army was besieging a large roman city which they captured.

So my current status? Gained a foothold, able to recruit descent phalanxes and planning to either finish off Epyrus or move upwards in Greece to take out a minor faction.

Decided to take it slow, have a NAP and Trade agreement with Sarmatia whom I've helped to take their entire province and another one with a gallic tribe. Currently I find myself in a defensive position as the Cherusci raid the south of Magna Germania quite consistently, whereas the Frisii declared war on me, attacking with 2 full stacks of decent troops on land and keep harassing my hinterlands from the seas with smaller but well equipped armies whilst literally swamping me with agents. Despite all of its shortcomings , I'm actually having a great time .

First off I know this is off topic, I just diddnt feel like creating a whole new thread for one question.

I havent bought this game yet and I was just wondering if someone who has played the game could answer this quick question for me.

I know Athens is probably a democracy in the game and I was just wondering if it offers the same feature to overthrow the senate and proclaim yourself king/emperor just as Rome does.

I'm on a 80 turn campaign as Athens, and I haven't come across something like that, I can keep on playing on that campaign, and let you know.

Its been 3 days since release, which for some people is more than enough time to get their empire up and running, so, why not share them? Here is mine, I am a little over 100 turns in the campaign, I plan on expanding into North africa and securing the western Mediterranean, then move North and take out the Gallic Confederation and the Arveni. Then finally move east. Athens is my defensive ally and the light green faction (veltii) is my only client kingdom.

Shelved. Laggy campaign map, 3min battles and an AI that's very passive towards the player kinda ruined it for me after 30 hours of play.

Here is my legendary Athens I'm allied to Pergamon against the Selucids and their infinite vassals.Too easy, they don't seem to send attacks so far,my hellenic archers are just gaining free experience.
