Legolas is dead, his entire host of Elves slain along with him. After defeating the rebel force outside Kugavod, Rhun’s Northern Army had just enough movement points to reach the Elves and defeat them. Afterwards, the nearby fort held by Dale is stormed, the remaining defenders put to the sword. Let this be a lesson to the rest of the pointy-eared folk. Stay in your forest where you belong, and do not trouble the people of Rhun!
Note – I’m not sure why Legolas dies, but it happened every single time I played this battle. Maybe because he didn’t have anywhere to retreat to.

Ohhhh... Very well done Joe!! In PoA I knew I couldn't reach the fortress but of course you can defeat the rebels... Dam! Stupid mistakes keep happening to me in this HS!
Legolas didn't retreat to Dale's lands because by taking the fortress Dale officially went to war with SE, then they accepted a ceasefire but only next turn Dale can accept the alliance again...
EDIT:
Not much to report for the evil side except that Arnach was taken with the help of a spy, overwhelming odds. One drawback will not lead us from the path to victory. We have to hold our ground, regroup and never lose faith, we can defeat this evil!

Another glorious day for Gondor, for since the rule of the new Steward, Gondor has been reclaiming region after region. Gondor is now at a point it has reclaimed all its formal regions. Let us keep this pace of expanding up and drive the orcs back to the poisonous mountains from whence they came!

The Mordor generals retreated all the way back next to W.O. and drew the garrison out. Faramir however had to hire bandits because with 370~ men he would get only heroic victories..... (Yes only heroic victories, not one defeat)

Sorry JWANT, but this one might be on me, since it looks like Chieftain might've used the same trick I used before. Just be aware of it in the future. You really can't leave defeatable armies in range of your cities.

I think no one is to blame, this is just the TATW retreat system which actually is not that weird in this case. His generals were on the lands of Pelargir and the only close land of Mordor they could retreat to was W.O. and it happens this is a small land which puts the army straight next to the settlement...Originally Posted by joerock22
