Icon2 [Tech] Divide et Impera localization project for non-english players (Works with v1.02)

    DeI language fix

Most of this is for previous mod versions and may be out of date. Here is a resource for translators, our entire 1.2 text library in spreadsheet format:

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...00?usp=sharing

    What is DeI language fix?
DeI language fix is a MOD designed to solve compatibility problems between language versions different than English. The idea was inspired by the UPC project started by Swiss Halberdier some time ago. The Divide et Impera language fix works the same way as the UPC, the whole thing is packed in a single .pack file which contains a localization data from the English version of Rome 2. If you’re using different version than English you'll need to use this mod, otherwise you’ll not be able to see a new units names or other texts added by the Divide et Impera.

To install simply put this file into your data folder.

    Current version: v1.03a
    [based on patch 16.1]

Known bug: no texts in campaign statistics tab

If you're using DeI translations you do not have to install DeI language fix!

Also, if you're willing to help with the translating process just write a PM to the people responsible for a certain translation or, if you want to start a translation project, follow the guide on the bottom of this thread.

    Resources for translators:

    • How to start translating?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    1. Open your native localisation pack with the Pack File Manager.

    2. Export your Vanilla localisation and save it somewhere (desktop/folder).

    3. Download the actual DeI localisation file from this thread (It would be best to save it in the same folder).

    4. Start to translate your downloaded file! ;-)

    5. When you're done with translating simply paste all the contents of your DeI file onto the VERY TOP of the Vanilla file (you can do it by pressing CTRL + C and CTRL + V, I assume you know it).

    6. Download the DeI language fix from this thread and save it somewhere.

    7. Open the extracted file with the Pack File Manager.

    8. Import your modified localisation.tsv file into the pack.

    9. Save your file and remember to name it properly.

    10. That's it, now test your file and check if it's working and when you're sure that everything's OK just send me the file on PM.

    • What about entries that will be added in the future versions of DeI?

Don't worry about that, I'll post all the new entries here in the thread, so you will not have to search them on your own. You can also use my tool to check them on your own if you want.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    How to use the converter

The tool is designed to make checking differences between DeI versions a lot easier. If you want to check what entries were added to the newest version just use this tool.

    1. Place the DeI localisation file from the old version (in English) in /input/vanilla tables/*
(already contains English vanilla tables .tsv from patch 8.1b - you can delete them and paste your own tables)

    2. Place the DeI localisation file from new version .tsv in /input/mod tables/*
(already contains DeI 0.6j mod tables .tsv - you can delete them and paste your own tables)

    3. Run Convert-64bit.exe

    4. Wait some time

    5. Go to /output/ folder and enjoy your files

    Mod updated
    - updated for DeI v0.6j
I've created a tool for myself which helps me a lot with comparing vanilla texts to DeI's texts, everything goes automatically It can be also used for creating translations of pretty much every mod, so if anyone is interested in it just PM me.

I've already prepared a localisation file, that contains only modified text from DeI, so translators don't have to worry about finding changed entries.
There're exactly 2299 lines of text to translate. So we only need people who will do localisations

So, for translation one just needs to find spare time and tranlsate all lines of text in DeI_eng_language.pack?

Yes. I've created a brilliant tool, so it's easy to find any text differences in each versions of DeI, so even if they release an update for their mod I can easily update translations to it.

    @edit
There're 2299 lines but most of them are just lines which are no needed to translate, such as unit names (about 600 lines) or bulding names which are extremaly easy to translate.
    Examples of buildings:
    Eastern Town
    Eastern village
    Eastern small town
    Barbarian Town
    Barbarian village [200 lines]
so it can be done by some kind of program which can translate single lines.

Sorry for Polish-invasion posts, but it's all about this submod so don't mind it. I wish I find some more free time to create something like the UPC team did if Swiss would have not enough free time to do it so.

You can export them by using PFM, it's propably in your local_it_rome2.pack and it's called localisation.loc

When you export your localisation.loc file into .tsv file just go to my first post and download one of those files from a section called "DeI mod entries in English". Then you must paste this downloaded file on the top of your localisation.tsv, save it and import back to the local_it_rome2.pack. If you want, you can also send me your modified file and I'll include it here in this thread.

    @edit
Feel free to ask if you have a problem with exporting
