Thread: Recruitment thread

  1. #1

    Default Recruitment thread

I'm looking for people who can help me with the following:

    • Someone to research how Korean units were trained (so I can create buildings to train these units).
    • Someone to make the new Korean ships (if not possible to make new ships then use the most accurate Japanese ships).
    • Someone to research what soldiers China had access to, and what weapons and armour they used.
    • Someone to research what soldiers the Manchu, Jurchen, and Mongols had access to; and what weapons and armour they used.

    • Someone to make new encyclopaedia entries.
    • Some to make the height map and campaign detail image files more accurate.

I can help you making new units (all the DB tables, and things like that, not 3D modeling), and maybe with the research of chinese and korean units. At least while I have free time.

If someone can find out how to add ship models in game i will make them. If its a problem with the platform and where people walk, i propose we make the crew and cannons invisisible since the turtleship will cover most of this up. We can then use the cannon bune as are base to fire cannons which will make a workable units. If getting ships in are much more complicated then that, we will have to find a workaround, but if anyone thinks that could viable, lets try it.

Otherwise im going complete the armours and weapons with mano. Once im done with mid terms and holidays, ill have plenty of time to work with this and get them done in a timely fashion.

Frodo, I think you also should use your experience in T'Ed Siege Map Making.

Unlike Japanese Jokamachi, where towns grew around Castles; There are two kinds of Korean Fortifications: Hillforts and Chinese-Styled Walled Enclosures - something more familiar.

For Hillforts, modifying existing maps shall suffice, since the Japanese tend to upgrade existing Korean Hillforts into Japanese-Style Fortresses in vital areas.
However, Walled Cities are completely different matter, It must be built from scratch. Flatland Castles, should be replaced by this, and Coastal Castles into Fortified Harbors (the effect of extensive Wako raids).

To simplify AI movements, the walled cities shouldn't be too complex; It should have wide streets. It's helpful that Chinese-Style City Planning are based on Square Grids in orientation of the wind directions. So it should be something like this: Capture Point in Town Square, Capturable and Garrisonable Buildings, Easy to travel but also easily blockaded Streets, Surrounded with Stone Walls.
(I recall there is a gate in T'Ed that is not ramped for higher levels/elevation - Just a gate.)

Do you still need someone to research late Ming weapons and armor?

Research on late Ming weapons and armour would be helpful. I'd need to know what soldiers made up the Ming armies, what weapons they had, and what armour they wore.

Should I pm you the information or post it on this thread or post it in historical research?

Thanks that will be helpful as currently no one is updating the encyclopedia. Would you also be willing to write unit descriptions?
