The Third Battle: A TRUE Christmas Present!
"Fields of Elysan"
There was no reason in hell we thought we'd do this, as it's Christmas and hadn't been thought about at all...however, a couple of people wrote nice things and it was decided that we'd make an xmas battle. Except there's two. It's a tradition to do SOMETHING, but this year.....uhhmmmm....
The Modfolder for this is interesting...you'll see some stuff of what the mod will be like, some half finished, or bits tested and left to be developed either seperately or just 'later'. Quotes are in, load screens and some ui stuff, but it will be different for the release. The text colours and things are annoying, but it shows the lengths of experimentation we're doing, and I'd like you to see it, even if you think it's awful Just put up with some useless bits and enjoy the better stuff!
It's a present. Unprepared for, little time to get working (bits of the last 4 days only), so accept it as that. We will begin to fiddle more, of course, and get things up to scratch, but please don't get annoyed if everything's not perfect in there It's not.
THE ILDIRI Kingdom of SWANS
The setting of this battle is 15 years after the end of the war depicted in the main mod.
The Kingdom of Swans is a kingdom founded a mere few hundred years ago, given in land abandoned by the Khezdruli under the Azaraghal Accord, whereby the Khezdruli would limit their plunder of resources, returning such lands to the care of both Elves and the Rhysthari, who could heal damage, regrow minerals and the fabled Ley Crystal deposits in order to save the Dragon from harm and keep the Abyss at bay. The wounds to the Dragon and it's weakness led to Infection before, and will once again should things be as grievous as they were before the war that brought an end to uncontrolled plunder.
THE Swan Princes, firstborn of the Heron Kings, held this land for their people, and their ways were of a different bent from the older Ildiri lands. They valued open dealings, longed to demonstrate their chivalry and perfection, and they weakened the Ildiri whilst remaining on a war footing for several hundred years. COnstant tourneys, military 'manouevres' and massive production of intricate and beautiful armaments drained the treasuries, and mismanagement of other areas were telling. However, when the war came, they were ready, and they survived the brutality, despite the length and depth of the suffering. By it's end, they were a tired people, and their greatest strength was all but broken. There was no Swan Prince to lead them, and the military fell to the Black Swans, an elite guard unit, and them alone. Swan Knights and the Imhrain remained, and the Heron King was to send a cousin to rule.
Before this, however, it became apparent how the Khezdruli had remained strong. They had broken the Accord and plundered massively, creating thousands of Gnomes, automatons for their own war against the dark that fell upon them. The Rhysthari reportedthat they had not stopped, even after the main danger was passed, and the Infected had begun to manifest once more. Such a thing could not be allowed, and the Black Swans marched. The Khezdruli became aware, and they sacked the border fort of Pielsantair, then marched to meet the Ildiri. Avatars gathered, and some took action against the Khezdruli, but were swept aside.
This is the battle that occurred.
NOTE: I shall include the write-up of the original battle, that was set out a good year ago. It's in the battle's description in the game itself.

THE KHEZDRULI Kingdom of ANGARECH
The setting of this battle is 15 years after the end of the war depicted in the main mod.
The Khezdruli made a harsh decision, and it was one made at the brink of losing everything. They had agreed to an Accord, whereby they would limit their mining and their Making to within limits that the Elves and others felt was 'acceptable', and the Dragon could recover from - a ridiculous tale for children. The Dwarves had kept to this, and had even given lands so the Ildiri could set a Princeling in his own demesne. When the war came, the Khezdruli fell to their knees, in the path of enemies that would have swept other kingdoms away. However, they made the decision to manufacture war engines, weapons and armour for their survival, and they went too far. They survived, and the war ended, save in the deeps, where the Infected had begun to rise. No-one could learn of this, so they built more, and slaughtered the Infected, but never destroyed them, as they were leaking into Reality from the Abyss, even in small numbers, and the Deeps heard their screams.
The Ildiri were told of the continuing plunder by the Lizard-healers, but not of the reasons, and it was all it took to force war on the Dwarves, so they marched to battle, sacked a border fort and planned to bring the Kingdom of Swans to it's knees, to wring a treaty from them allowing a brief period of 'controlled' excess....they may even explain the Infecteds' return in a position of advantage, should the war go well. Sadly, the Ildiri marched to meet them, and nightly attacks by strange creatures wore at the Dwarves. They met in battle, but did not expect that others would take advantage of this war, or that they were in such numbers and bold enough to walk in the open air.

There are two battles. There is the xmasbash AND the xmasbashnonghaur. Both include the same units and factions, but the second also involves the army of Infected that followed the Dwarves, unplayable (not much point), and it will be a harder, more hectic one, as they keep coming PLEASE play the non-Infected one first, to fully appreciate the second.
Please also note that we will be integrating the units of the first two battles, so you can play parts of 6 factions in custom battles yourselves.
OLD NOTES/GUIDE ON INSTALLING BATTLES
Note that the name listed here is Dragonborn.....we've called the mod DragonDawn so we don't confuse things. However, it is DragonDawn now.

Teamies and Credits
This really is down to the nice people who support this. It wasn't a planned, intentional ting, and several people came together to pump this out a few days before Christmas for the lot of you, because of TWC fans who deserved it. So, bit late in the day, but HAPPY CHRISTMAS.
