Total War: Rome II - Caesar in Gaul Campaign and Patch 8 Released
The first campaign pack for Total War: Rome II has been released. The Caesar in Gaul campaign is inspired by Julius Caesar's personal account of the Gallic Wars - Commentarii de Bello Gallico, as players fight for mastery of Gaul with a new and more detailed campaign map of the region. Take to the field with the likes of Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony as Rome, or throw a spanner in the works as one of the three playable Barbarian factions in the campaign - the Averni, Suebi, or the infamously vicious Belgic tribe of the Nervii. Check out the campaign trailer above to get a taster.
A new patch has also been released for Rome II. Patch 8 adds the ability to levy units from satrapies and client states. Quarries and mines have been added in a new industrial building chain. The faction list in diplomacy view is now alphabetical by default (Hurray!). Check out the patch notes for the full details. Look out for Patch 8.1 that's soon to follow with much needed added aggressiveness for major factions in the main campaign game set to feature.
