Some gambeson Wips for the peasant troop armour upgrades.
The basic torso mesh is an adaptation from LACA's model of ERE heavy spearmen, I think it will do better than the vanilla torso for lod0 but let me just repeat it is still a WiP.

My first take on the gambeson normal maps is finished but I do not find it 100% satisfactory.
Then again, you guys might like it more than I do.

This is a milkshape preview of the next iteration of the model, with crude shields by GeminiSandy, slightky modified.
Not much variety in the shields but they are supposed to be a very low tier troop type, barely above the peasant levy.

I think this is my final modification (as I can't think what else to do with them) of GeminiSandy's crude shields.
I think their "cruder", less regular state accentuates the "character" of this troop type.

My comment:
Today, after four years of making models, I figured out for the first time why CA bothered to model the inside of their mouths.
Obviously this is a deleted feature in my models but it shows the misplaced effort: they animated the mouths opening wide but did not bother to make a proper 2-handed axe animation.
