How much do you think is fair?
It's normal
you can ?
I can but I it is going to take quite some time for a good quality result and I am currently working on something else, as you can see.
For an amount of money I would be willing to make the Georgian army models a priority.
That's why I asked:
And you answered:
I don't know what your "normal" means.
You have not mentioned a number ($) yet.
Like I said.
For the time being the works on my padded feudal sergeants as in "early professionals" have not stopped.
Before posting any in-game images I had to get most of the vertex weights right and produce the first wholesome (that is with normals) texture maps.
And voila!, the first IG eyecandy for my fans!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I still need to fix some of the vertex weights, namely in the back of the coifs and the front rims of the gambeson sleeves and then add variety and their accessories.
But the new body model has shown that it is solid and that's the completion of the first big step in the process of making them.
Redoutable. Say, out of curiosity, how much would you think it's fair by unit? Not trying to make a offer, I would be motivated enough to learn modeling if I wanted units that much, just curious.
What is "Redoutable"?
A price would have to be discussed.
Check the links provided here (TurboSquid).
Now a M2TW model, the way I like to make them, may have fewer polygons than most of the models in that link and the texture maps I'd be providing might not be of the same resolution in most of the models in TurboSquid but they don't need to be, unless the client asks otherwise.
Where the work gets really big is that my models have quite the variety, a set of four lods and sprites with UI icons as well.
For example, when the model I am currently working is done they will have six gambesoned torsos, several shields and helmets and the accessories I have already shown in the previous models.
They already have 16 different faces in the unit and 14 different helmets with a variety of independently recombinable nasal guards.
Then you want armor upgrades.
And Khevsur asked a Georgian "army" which might not be compatible with work already done, not to mention it would require some research before the modelling begins.
So you get the idea.
Someone who already has a job might not be willing to take this up unless the remuneration is substantial.
Oh, come on!
They advertise themselves as the place to go for "Royalty-Free 3D models for Professionals".
For private use n a game, I would say yeah, many are rather pricey but there are free models as well.
Well, I suppose that's the idea.
One of the people at the development of the Europa Barbarorum mod has a page there.
Thanks, I have a few more screenies but they are fixes only, not much new in visuals.
Namely, the metal of the helmets is less shiny, the normals at the sides of some of the helmets are fixed and the UV mapping of the chainmail coif has been improved, though it will not be perfect in this model.
Let me know if the helmets are preferable this way.

Apologies for the delayed update, but not all of the progress makes for meaningful eye candy, yet the progress did not stop.
I reworked the tunic textures to add a "cleavage" effect between the legs.
Without it the tunic textures will stretch too much in-game.
I added two more tunics to the texture map for a total of 6.
This is what you can expect:

Announcing the bulk of the "figure" textures are complete and works have begun on the shields textures.
Originally I will only make three shield patterns per faction so that I can make a release ASAP.
After the first release there will be follow up uploads with a full complement of shields (9 or 10 per faction).
Below are the three shields for the Kingdom of Aragon:

First IG screenshots of the Normans of De Hauteville Sicily and with a full complement of all the types of gambeson textures.
I am still experimenting with the normal map intensity on some parts as you may be able to see.
I will soon post screenshots of the other factions as I finish more shield patterns.

As always, it is the appreciation of my fandom that drives me to do better every time, so remember the round green button.
