Thread: Food management

    Default Food management

Played a game as Athens. Had 6 food surplus, didn't conquer any new provinces. And suddenly my food is -4. Where did 10 food go? Not a single new building was made, nothing. It just vanished. And best part is I cannot check how and where the food is distributed.

Do you have armies in that region? Also, mustering armies consumes quite an amount of food. That and perhaps some buildings like trading port or city upgrade.

Is there any guide regarding food? As I seem not to be able to understand where does it go to.

Food is critical in DeI, as I had to learn the hard way lol.

As to where 10 food may have gone, recruiting armies may have consumed more food, changing stances of several armies may have contributed, and certain unusual season events I believe will cause loss of food (like extreme drought, if I remember correctly).

Seems food is crucial indeed, will be managing it more thoroughly.
