http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAjsDrKeFvIBlending commentary from noted historians with footage created using the Total War: ROME II engine, this documentary short takes a close look at one of the most devastating defeats the Roman Empire ever faced.
The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest saw three full legions of Rome utterly destroyed; it shook the empire to its very foundations, and offered Rome a stark reminder of the perils of an overstretched empire.
Featuring Bettany Hughes, Mike Loades, Lynette Nusbacher and Dr. Adrian Goldsworthy.

Note that this video has been released in this period, when steam (and other site) sales are starting and you can find ROme II on sales, in order to cheat people (what shown in the video is not Rome II!!) who haven't bought the game yet.
Better spending money trying to lure customers than making a better game...
Seems this what CA has been busy about... It's a much better presentation of Teutoburg though. Now put this in the game!![]()
Am I the only who honestly doesn't care about these documentaries? I'd rather have that doesn't become boring after five minutes of gameplay.
its working

This was a decent video
but, eh you can watch Decisive battle on youtube. Or you can watch Sun Tzsu version as soon as that comes out XD
REMOVED: YOUTUBE VIDEO OF "Total War: ROME II - Perils of Empire" - Teutoburg Forest
EDIT: \Crap ninjaed by Praetorian![]()
Why are they trying to show/tell us, nothing you see is in-game. The Teutoburg battle in-game is nothing like what they show or say. So I can't see the point in showing these types of videos. If it's publicity/selling point of view then it's hardly effective.

CA are wasting money on this crap
"The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must."

Should have talked about Battle Of Carrhae or Battle Of Cannae or Magnesia. That might have been little more entertaining
Apart from the music and occasional battle animations, nothing in the video relates to the game. And it sort of makes me feel angry that all this hype still goes on while the AI isn't fixed.

Another one? Does CA have a Teutoburg fetish?
Agreed, she's more a "star", from "nice people" establishment than a real, serious, sober and discret historian from my point.
According all the ahistorical things and mistakes that the game features, I assume she do not have any critic sense, and prefered close his mouth and keep the money from C.A.
I ignored about Brittany Hugues, she suits perfectly Brian Blessed and Mark Strong..I'm afflicted.
I see some nice Roman forts in the video
What, a whole melee unit throws their pila?!Something what I really miss since Patch 4...
(and yes, for me is this feature still broken)
What a fake video. People are lead to believe that's what the game looks like and that's the kind of stuff you'll see in the game. We can keep wishing....
This kind of thing is HIGHLY misleading. Mixing a docu with Rome 2 gives potential buyers the impression they`re going to get a game that will refelect the history (strategy, tactics, units) reasonably well. the fact that the AI can`t even take the walls or use fire sticks to break gates will have any gamer who wants a serious Rome challnge frothing at the mouth and wanting his money back, and we`re not even talking about insta-ships, lack of family and the rest of it.
It would be better to use Rome one`s mechanics for Docus (and they did).
This does nothing to improve trust in CA.
