Thread: Why are the soldiers so "spaced out"?

Default Why are the soldiers so "spaced out"?

Soldiers that aren't spearmen are really spaced out. Like if you press the "space out" button it won't change anything since they are already spaced out. This is really bad for my soldiers when cavalry charge my ranks, also the faction I'm playing has only one spear unit available and so I don't have many spear units. Is there any way I could disable this?

But why? Why all the factions must have plenty spear units? Here is the challange and gameplay uniqness - play a faction that lack diversity in spears! Every faction got its own Achilles' heel -some lacks good HA, other good swordsmen etc. And that is highly beneficial for the gameplay - each faction needs separate and unique strategy for winning.

Also despite your faction has only one spear unit, you can still conquer some lands which give you oportunity to train local spear infantry (AoR units). For example in Azerbaijan you can train pretty decent local spearmen.
