vlad mod has a themopalaye historical battle if that interests you
heres the link: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60907 the last version he made for orginal rtw is for patch 1.2 hes in the process of making a new one for rtw 1.5,he also made a new barbarian invasion one which is for 1.6

i dont think theres a standalone one i only remember seeing one in vlads mod but i think there was another one with it as a custom map.

ive tried two thermopylae maps, 'the Gates of Fire' and 'Thermopylae' but none of them are any good

Hader has made a great tutorial on how to create your own cutom locations. For now, study this and i will search if any historical battle tutorial is available
