Cant start a campaign.

So I installed the new Expansion patch II and I have the strangest error. When I go into the campaign faction selection screen I don't have any problems until I click start, and then it takes me back to the title screen.

Do you have Britaniae II pars I and II installed first. if so delete all virtual files as discussed on the DL section before loading up the game. The most recent versions are always on that thread

same for me also im afraid , will look and see if i can remedy it , total clean install of parts 1 and 2 then new expansion.....cant start a campaign.... it may be on my side, will check it out ....anybody else having bother?................EDIT dunno how but iv got it working must have been my fault

I have the same problem - the Expansion II was installed on parts 1&2 and Expansion I, the game freezes after hitting "start" in campaign menu. I don't have any medieval 2 files in VirtualStore folder, could it be something else? Cheers Rio and thank you again for your amazing work.

Yep i did, and when I go to task menager Medieval II is 'not responding'.

Not sure why it would freeze up. I tested it by installing parts I and II then the Expansion II W/O issue. Ill look see tough to see where this problem may arises. Is this from the Installer or 7z zip?


Just to note It may take several minutes for the game to load up its first time. It needs to regenerate the rwm map file so you should see the hour glass spinning for a few minutes before the load up.

Yep i did, and when I go to task menager Medieval II is 'not responding'.

I noticed the text file was missing a export ancillary bin file. It should regenerate with the games the Load up but Im going to add it to new Expansion uploads to avoid possible issues as such. I should have all the Expansion II Downloads from media fire and Filefront reuploaded within he hour

Everything works fine by now, it was a false alarm - it just took a little bit longer to load than I expected, that's all. I will post more detailed comments on economy/happines balance later on. Cheers.

that kinda explains it , mines wasnt working then i installed expansion 2 again ..never worked....then it worked fine {mines was cutting back to the main menu at campaign start up}
....all good now though....starting a new campaign

Great you should be all set Im re uploading the Expansion II because for those who are copying it over the first Expansion because, the ancillary bin file in the new Expansion II text folder needs to be in the mod or the ancillary bin file and the ancillary modified file will conflict

I have the same problem itm wont start I dont even see a hourglass just the start button remains pushed ...also I cant start custom ro quick battles

It's as for a lot of mods. It seems that some files need to be compiled by the game if you launch the mod for the first time.
So, there will be no hourglas, the game will say that it is "unresponding" ... but WAIT. This in NORMAL. It WILL start.
You should wait between 1 and 5 minutes.

Then, you will not have to wait anymore
