Black Sails (Season 4 trailer)

Starz is really into historical(*) drama right now. First Spartacus, then Magic City, Da Vinci's Demons, The White Queen (co-produced with BBC) and now Black Sails.

Despite it being produced by Michael Bay, I'm genuinely excited about this. It looks well done (i.e. expensive) and it will be a nice show to tide me over until Game of Thrones, Da Vinci's Demons, and Vikings return next spring.

Is this going to be Spartacus style historical accuracy or more accurate, either way I am interested.

Yeah there is no alternative future where I'm not watchin this. I love me some action-adventure.

I'm also really looking forward to Steven DeKnights sci-fi project to become a reality, it sounds right up my alley too.

What's this about?

I remember other historical dramas like Shogun and Far Pavilions. I think that there was also a show about Robinson Crusoe.

No Hazzard, I think that's Spielberg.

Oda, it's going to be about the Golden Age of Piracy. According to Wiki it's going to be a prequel to Treasure Island.

Also, apparently Starz has already renewed it for a second season...Weird.

it can't be any worse than the bastardization of da Vinci thats also on Starz. at least Spartacus followed history somewhat closely.

^ I will have to agree. Spartacus was mostly a WTF for me though, rather watch HBO Rome Season 2 all of the random episodes and none of the good episodes. That's how much I "appreciate" Spartacus, season 1 was better and season 2 was meh had it's good parts too. Lucy Lawless was good in that by the way, she should do more work.
