Tis a sad day. I haven't read many of his books (I really ought to), but the movies based off his works are awesome and the games are solid (ranging from above average (at worst) to excellent). The thriller/spy genre will sorely miss him.

Oda, a very prolific author that has had several movie adaptations of his work as well as numerous video games.
I just came to the sad realization that I have never read a single one of his novels. I am kind of sad about this.

I enjoyed some of his earlier stuff (written in the Cold War mainly), but RIP anyway.

He heavily had a say in his games production and a lot of his films. So you can say you did appreciate his work and still enjoy the books.
