Default Return of Atlantis *save game crash fixed*

Rumours come with the wind from the west. Whispers of a growing power. It was far too long ago that the city of Atlantis had been seemingly lost to memory, now only a legend - a myth.

But little do the peoples of the world know, that just beyond the horizon, Atlantis has been rebuilding, becoming more powerful than ever before. In secret the Atlanteans had been studying the great powers of this time; taking close note of their military tactics and technologies, whilst developing some new tricks of their own.

The time has come to strike. To reclaim the Empire that was lost, and more. The time has come for the return of Atlantis!

Return of Atlantis is a modification for Rome: Total War 1.5 which adds a vanilla-esque faction of Atlantis to the game. Little to nothing else about the original game has been changed, thus preserving the classic experience that is Rome: Total War.

This game is modfoldered so no need to worry about overwriting your other stuff.

    Installation instructions:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Step 1

To install the mod, you first need to unzip the file and place the atlantis folder directly inside your Rome - Total War folder.

    Step 2
    ------------------------------------

    - Make a copy of your Rome - Total War shortcut
    - Right-click on it
    - Select "Properties"
    - At the end of the box that says "path" or "target", type -mod:atlantis
    - This should go after the quotes in that box with a space, like so:
    ...\RomeTW.exe" -mod:atlantis

You should now be able to double-click the shortcut and run the game.

Note: Whilst doing this you can also use the "Change Icon" button, navigate to your atlantis folder, and change from the standard RTW icon to one of the new one provided!

    For Steam Users
    ------------------------------------
Complete Step 1 as above, putting atlantis in the relevant Steam folder:

Windows XP it should usually be
    Crogram Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Rome Total War Gold
Windows Vista & 7 it should usually be
    C:/Program Files(x86 or x64)/Steam/steamapps/common/Rome Total War Gold

Then to play the mod from the Steam Library:
Right click on RTW in the steam library.
    Click 'Properties'
    Click 'Set Launch Options...'
    type into the box '-mod:atlantis'

And then run RTW. To run regular RTW again delete the '-mod:atlantis' command again.

    Enjoy!

Great Job, but how are we supposed to move the atlantean armies to Europe/Africa< so we can actually fight some battles? The sea-routes of the fleets only go round Atlantis land-mass, but none go east towards the mainland.

Ok, great, thank you. Until then, it'll be custom battles .
Maybe some more units for atlanteans and a change in their feeling as Numidia would improve the plaayble aspect of the faction(besides the great start position and great unit rooster.

Since they have been studying the great powers of the time, perhaps they could copy the eastern factions and perhaps have their own Cataphracts as well?

Arright, fixed mod folder is uploading at Mod DB.
If you don't want to download it again, just drop the attached/extracted file into atlantis > data > world > maps > base and also delete map.rwm in that folder.

Now this is AWESOME. I just realized it wasn't for Rome II. Would it be possible to do the same thing in Rome II? Very Cool. +1

Wow!! the graphics are ancient!! why mod a game that is like 15 years old?! there's been 6 or 7 new titles after Rome total war by the way.

New doesn't always mean better and old hardly means that it's no good any more.

    Nothing beats old school Rome.
