Thread: How to edit existing units uniforms using existing uniforms.

Default How to edit existing units uniforms using existing uniforms.

So I have mms, TWeak and bob. I have edited a bunch of units in tweak using jus the unit editor. But I don't know what to pack in bob. I tried packing variant models in bob but that changed nothing except made the sound not work. I have tried a bunch of other things like adding units and uniforms from the database and that still did nothing.

What am I supposed to pack in the mod to make it work. Or have I done something wrong in tweak?

I can make other mods fine that just edit values. But I want to add more variation to the fots units.

A mod pack needs the following files in order to work:
    a) In db (or data base) units, unit_stats_land, units_to_grouping_military_permisions, uniforms, units_to_unit_abilities_juntions, cdr_unit_qualities, (opcional: unit_description_texts, building_units_allowed)
    b) In text/ db/ data.loc.
    3) In ui/ units/ icons, icons_square, info, recruitment_large, recruitment_small.
    4) In variantmodels/ units/ [all the unit variantmodels files you made in Tweak for your mod].

This to begin with..., one can mod virtually every file in the game, for the values in the mod packs load after the vanilla packs and thus, rule.

    Regarding Bob release tool (
), all I can say is it doesn't work well for me and I'm helpless with that.
This is what it happens when I try to pack my mod with it-

    , so it malfuctions.
The tool is incomplete, it should have one more window as shown here (by the way, great tutorial by Quogie): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zS9k47qU-0g

See this tutorial on making units in PFM: it's very accurate and useful.

Also, I advise you to implement your units one by one, in different packs. Why?- because a simple failure or conflict in your new add-ons and your unit pack is crewed. It's working pretty fine for me, now I have about 13 or 14 unit packs that work in game, it works like a charm
