    Realistic Heights

    This mod Corrects the disproportioned bodies of the Barbarians and Mediterraneans as well as all other etnicities in the game .
    From a Fantasy Giants vs Dwarves to a Normal height ratio based on actual realistic heights

    romans 1.73 min ---> 1.68 max ---> 1.78

    greeks Makedonians>Spartans>Hellas=Seleucid=Bactrians>Ptolemaics from 1.69 to 1.78

    Phoenicians1.68 min ---> 1.61 max ---> 1.71

    celts 1.77 min ---> 1.72 max ---> 1.82

    germans 1.81 min ---> 1.76 max ---> 1.86

    easterns 1.70 min ---> 1.63 max ---> 1.73

    Islanders 1.65 min --->1.60 max ---> 1.70

    Thracians 1.75 min --->1.70 max --->1.80

    Dacians 1.75 min --->1.70 max --->1.80

    Iberians 1.72 min --->1.67 max --->1.77

    Celtiberians 1.75 min --->1.70 max --->1.80

    Steppes 1.75 min --->1.70 max --->1.80

    Nubians 1.77 min --->1.72 max --->1.82

    Some Units keep variances so you will see as is in vanilla differences in the heights inthe same unit but no more disproportioned lik e befoure.

    Looking forward to this, Prom. Spartan heroes also tower over my Armoured legionaries and kind of look ridiculous. You have my backing for this

    i do not care, i like to see gigantic royal spartans or german warriors, it is cool to see short romans against massive barbarians. I do not care if it was not historical, anyway we cannot know exactely how tall where first rows of germans charging romans, probably they put tallest men in front, so the effect short vs tall could be even historical.
    Then romans were on average 165, celts over 170-175, germans about 175-180. This very much ON AVERAGE, TO GIVE AN IDEA. And romans of late republic were even shorter in some cases, since they melted with eastern people after punic wars and all those slaves/ merchants/ whatever came into italy.

    In the picture you show the roman is CROUCHED, so real difference would be less. If he was steady, i think real difference would be about 15 cm. Which is not so unhistorically. Just try to compare a 180 cm guy with a 165 cm guy as most romans were. I do not know why you say germans are more than 2 mt, maybe you consider romans 180 cm and make germans in comparison? Try to chose 165 cm as real height for a roman, german in the game would look like 180-185 which is not absurd.
    I am 178 myself and when i compare to 190 cm guys i feel something like a roman would feel with an average german.

    The maximum height a roman with vfariace could reach I put to 1.80 while for germans 1.95 for the talles berserkers ... I think is quite fair with romans base 1.74 ranging so from 1.70 to 1.80

    so no more Masterchief sized barbarians, I am also making variations for the whole barbarian tribes, its no way that Dacians are as tall as Iberians or Celts as Scythians etc ...

    after some proportions and calculations it can be seen how the most of the units have a small variance between them but the height bases are overly wrong...
    SCREW CALCULATIONS AND SCIENCE! Don't need that to see how weird this is

    Is it in the db somewhere, in the unit file, or is it the actual models?

    romans 1.73 min ---> 1.68 max ---> 1.78

    Interesting... I wonder if it's possible to increase the size of all models (units, buildings, grass, trees etc.) across the board. Might help avoid the 'looking down at a bunch of ants' feeling I've had with this engine.

    Ok I finished the mod ...

    here it is The New Images are Like that ...

    Befoure



    After





    As you can see now there is more distinguishable variance among single soldiers ,without having touched the vanilla stat , but redimensioning the figures to a realistic height differences the soldiers now do look human and no more like half giants ...

    Still Germans retain their higher height in comparison , btw the berserkers are the tallest unit of the whole game , but in Vanilla was like 1.94 m with peak of 2 m now are like 1.85 with peak of 1.90 and minimum of 1.80

    while the romans in the picture are a first cohort , taller than the usual ones of a couple cms

    the higher here would be 1.80 and the lowest 1.72 more or less


    the islanders and balearics I made the shortest of the game with a 1.65 average but with peaks as well get higher members
