What do you think of this different version?

Lighting is an issue, can you suggest changes?

I think it depends what you want to use these models for. From my opinion, if you want to use them for a specific game you need to make them appearing like the original models (unless you're re-working the whole game )

It would be easier for me if the other creators just followed my style

In the upper picture with the specific lightening the Hagia Sophia is kind of getting lost which I think is not what you intended, or?
In general in both pictures the older church is kind of a fix point in the setting, it just catches the view which is maybe for the last developement stage of the city not right because the eye-catcher here should be the Hagia Sophia or? Maybe it's just a thing of proportion.
But I do like the size of the 4th stage model! Furthermore the first 3 stages are clearly better in the newer version, the buildings are closer together, looks more like an actual city.

Yes, this is what I said, now the Hagia Sophia is the 'eyecatcher'!

And the setting of your model of the Hagia Sophia looks great

Thank you, and happy new year

Although the city lay-out (and lighting) is not good imo...

The model is good so i am using it in my other project too

I agree with Quintus Hortensius Hortalus. That's much better that way
On the 1st version, I actually missed Hagia Sophia

Experimenting a little more with lighting in Gimp, post-render in Blender:

Forms posted are 3d rendered first, eg i modelled the cabin and walls, while the background is a photo mapped to a plane

Looking for feedback on lighting mostly (eg of the sky, and if it looks alive or not). These aren't the final color tones or the finished models/textures.

That's a bit difficult actually. Blue seems to be the leading colour and the general feeling given is that the pics appear dark.
Any chance to get them with something like a daylight?

The colour used for Hagia Sofia roof is too close to the one used for the others. A bit more "blue" (a bit like in post #285) would make it better from my humble opinion

Not sure if in the current setting the water (and even parts of the sky) are visible... Thoughts?

It's good, but why is the screenshot so small?
