3d city sets - New Byzantine Set!

Hi, i just wanted to share some of my new work, a Byzantine Empire city set, modelled by me using Blender



The cathedrals are The St. Demetrios of Thessalonike, the Hagia Eirene of Constantinople and, of course, the Hagia Sophia of Constantinople. I had fun making this work, and finally got around to figuring a good lighting setting in Blender...

This is my new work, created a couple of days ago, after taking a half a year break from graphical creation. You can check out most of my older stuff in my library at some other site (not sure if i am allowed to post a link to it, i will remove it if it is against the rules) :

I consider this new set (the one in the OP here) to be my best ever creation.

The above was made with a different 3d-modeller, Bryce 6.2. I had switched to Blender around a year ago, which is a far better program to use for making 3d graphics or isometric renders of them

Nice ones. Have you considered doing stuff for the TW games?

I *think* that one of my models (the non-domed basilica in this set) had been used in a M2:TW mod last year. Not sure if it is still in use though. I rarely provide full-3d files anyway, most of the time i make renders of 3d models of mine [only 3 models in CivIV and one (?) in M2TW are the exception].

Nice job. Maybe you could try to make a battle map for Constantinople in Medieval 2. Really nice job. Congratulations.

I doubt i could make a battle map, given that i guess that would mean the models would have to be on a massive scale, and my own models are not really designed to be in such a scale (both due to some invisible in this size imperfections, but also the rather big amount of polygons they consist of).

I would rather help with building graphics though

Hm, if i have time, yes i could help with some types of graphics. I don't think they would be full 3d files though, just specific renders of 3d models.

Working on a medieval Aztec set:

These are nice, but the textures could use some massive improvement. Plus could you post much larger resolution renders? These thumbnails are good for the idea but seeing the detail in this is a little... hard.

I like them They are in this size because they are made for an isometric 2,5d game (Civilization III). Also that game has set 256 colors per city faction file, so i cannot use endless color tones anyway...
