Thread: Rome 2 patch live now, second patch coming next week

Default Rome 2 patch live now, second patch coming next week

Here is the link with some extra info : http://www.videogamer.com/pc/rome_ii...next_week.html - no mention of anti aliasing..........http://www.twcenter.net/forums/image...thumbsdown.gif - I don't know about many of you but the thing that bothers me the most are the environment textures, bushes, ground etc.. The trees are SO UGLY, anything other then zoomed all the way in looks like the original Rome total war textures (working on extreme settings, have tried everything in turms of optimization). Any of you try performance after initial patch?? I am currently at work so i will have to wait until later.

Buhahaha, You blind or something? Open Shogun 2 or Napoleon atleast. You can see 3d, adnimated and multiple models of trees at bushes and woods. What I can see at Rome 2 is just bunch of dead sh*it painted green xD.

Stop being so harsh, you're gonna hurt someone's feelings! They're trying guys! Maybe if we buy some DLC things will get better for everyone.

Ok, I just read the link about only 2% having issues and that is a ing slap in the face. I was taking this fiasco in stride and having some fun with it after having survived every other CA title "launch/beta" this is downright insulting.

There is a difference between technical problems, and the game not being what we expected it to be (at such number of point, I don't even want to name them). But, technicly the game plays for me just fine.I'm with you on the feelings put out in the post though; why they sold this game, in this state, is a mistery to me. Well money obviously.

Possibly -- but the statement said that 2% are reporting troubles, and given that there were something like 100k people playing on the first day, I have to imagine that means that even if it's two thousand people reporting problems, that's still two percent. There are probably maybe 2-3 times that number, conservatively, who aren't reporting their problems to tech support or on the forums.

It is nice that they make patches and all, the game is going to need every help it can get. But to say only 2% of players have technical issues is downright belittling the intelligence of the players. Either that 2% is extremely audible and active, or then a little more people are experiencing difficulties. Even 20% is an optimistic evaluation.

2% of people REPORTING errors is a gigantic number. Consider that the 98% rest don't contact the support but still have problems and discuss them on the steam forums, the official forums, in this forum here and others. This reminds me of politics, where 300 angry christians write a letter to their congressman and that is more of an influence than people complaining in the streets, or even worse at home.

..."2% of players"? How could they even know this? Does Rome II run diagnostic spyware as you play it? lol. That percentage, coupled with the statement they made on Steam recently, is as dishonest and patronizing as a developer could be. It's pure and deplorable PR.

People with poor PCs should not play the game if they can run it graphically. Simple as that. My only problem with the game is the internal problems with it at the minute. Not anything to do with my PC.

Yeah, right. Even with the GTX Titan, the best graphics card money can buy, the FPS drops below 30 in certain spots during the built in benchmark. Two percent... the arrogance is unbelievable.

And that's a card that runs games like Skyrim and Battlefield 3 with steady 120 frames per second. Trust me, it's not just the 2% and it's not a minority. If entire forums and sites like metacritic complain about performance, then it's not just the vocal minority, that's a argument. I know a lot of apologists will claim that the game is nevertheless playable even with the FPS drops. Sure it's playable. But it's freaking 2013, is it so much to ask to have the framerate at least stay above 30 on 20v20 battles? Such unoptimized releases deserve no defending.

You know...they said 2% of people reporting technical problems. Frame drops aren't technical problems, technical problems are all of those bugs that they fixed in the first patch, you can't fix the frame drops unless you want to scrap the game and recode the entire thing for 64-bit only.
