I have the 3rd patch installed, and a single .pack mod into my data folder. When I launch the Mod Manager I can the mod I want to load, then I check the box and click the Launch Button. The game crash at the black screen before the loading picture. When I manualy go into my userscript, I can see:

    mod "the_mod_I_am_trying_to_load.pack";

So I think I can just load the game with the usual shortcut, and when I do it it loads correctly but without anymod.

Any ideas ? I've tried several things but nothing seems to work
    Same here bro...

My game is not in the standard location. The manager says I need to point it manually to the location of the "empire.exe". But I can't seem to find that. Can anyone help me?

    Hi all,

    Just my 2 cents.
After weeks of getting mod manager to work i had a breaktrough and it finally works for me.
What i used to do is extract the zip file using 7zip. That will create a folder with that name. The folder and it contents i placed in my Total War Rome 2 folder.
This time i just copy and paste the .exe and the .dll directly into the Total War Rome 2 folder and it now works!

My mod manager can no longer load Rome 2 with three mods attached, constantly freezing on the very first screen that you see. Could someone please help, or will I have to go to each individual mod page and ask around there?

    Please Help!

Shorten the name of the mod files, I had the same problem but fixed it by changing all mod file names to less than 8 chars (* file extension ".pack" not included ;o ie, Carthage.pack works fine *)

I am still unable to run mod manager, even after a fresh install. as soon as the mod manager is double-clicked, it immediately stops working and closes. the folder and all 3 files are extracted to the desktop and I have also tried extracting them to the common/rome 2 folder. same result. perhaps some FAQ or installation instructions included in the readme would help? maybe your link is also bad and doesn't transfer the files properly? I have seen this problem on here from at least 7 other people in this thread alone in the past 2 weeks, so it isn't an isolated incident. solving this problem would go a long way to improving the modding community. thanks for the help

    A quick update guys.

As many are aware I'm maintaining an old Empire TW code base of Mod Manager, code that isn't my own and furthermore is extremely hefty for what is essentially a simple tool.

As such I've completely rewritten Mod Manager recently, from scratch. It should almost definitiely fix any current problems, or if there are any further problems they can be fixed very easily as I'll know what is going on.

The UI for the new MM is similar in ways, but is now much clearer and you don' get any options that are useless to you, and some new ones that are. Anyway, more on that shortly.

I cannot for the life of me get this to work. I downloaded the mod manager and put it on my desktop. It can't find the Rome.exe file and when I point it to the Rome II location it gives me this...See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Mod Manager seems not to work with TWR 2 1.4----Crashes as soon as you launch the game. When I run the game with out it, it does fine. Mod Manager is definitely causing the crashes.

Or maybe the mods you're activating not compatible with Patch 4 ?
