    It seems the program is looking for the exe in C:\Program Files (x86) - I've got steam on another disk. Any chance to get the program always search for it in a specified location by the user?

    This tool wasn't originally designed by me, but with that said that's what this tool already does.

    It searches your registry to find where Rome 2 is installed, then if it can't find it it asks the user to point to the game exe so it knows where it is. It then saves that location to its settings file.

    Is this not happening?

    I'm trying with the one located at .../roaming/The Creative Assembly/Rome2/scripts and it doesn't works.

    Any way to get the manager to save the directory for my TW folder? It's not in a standard location (D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II)

    I like the program but it's not worth it to have to set it every time, especially when I"m having to open and close the game every couple of minutes while I'm modding.

    Nope. Every time it asks to locate the Rome exe. Getting through all those steam folders every time is annoying

    Is there anyway I can set the path myself? (Close to no skills in this field).

    I have the same issue, since I've updated all of my mods in their new versions... and install the Patch2Beta on Steam...

    Is it possible, the problem came of Steam (Beta) ? And the Mod Manager recognize just three mods.

    Please, It's really annoying to cannot play at Rome II with that fantastic mods !

    Fixed this just now, added a second way that the tool remembers your path if the first way doesn't work. If it finds a file called "dir.txt" next to the exe it will take the path to the game from that for example: D:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II

    You can create it yourself or let the tool create it when you first have to locate the exe.

    Assistance would be appreciated... Whenever I download the tool and extract it, upon launch, it immediately stops working... Tried the old Empire tool from the original post... no problem. So the issue seems to be with the Rome configured one. Win 7, tried extracting it to data folder, primary folder, desktop.. no dice. Tried compatibility mode... nada. Insta-crash on launch, not even asking for Rome directory... Any ideas? Would love to get back to sampling the awesome modes about the community.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    I have exactly that problem. Any suggestions?

    System.ArgumentException: not a pack file

    I'll show you the code that triggers this error:
    Code:
                    char[] signature = reader.ReadChars(4);
                    if (new String(signature) != "PFH4")
                        throw new ArgumentException("not a pack file", "filepath");
    As you can see, this happens when the pack file signature is not "PFH4". As all of the packs for Rome 2 have the signature PFH4, it can only be a mod that doesn't have.

    I suggest someone with this error gives me a list of the mods they are using from their data folder. Cheers.

    Hi sorry I'm having trouble downloading the mod manager, I've tried clicking on the links but all I get is a new 'attachment' page opening up but no downloads actually starting, looked in my downloads folder just to be sure and nothing there. I've tried restarting my browser and it didn't do anything, am I doing something wrong?
