    Win7 installation tutorial

    Win8.1 installation tutorial

    (Only ToDo once)
    1: Download the
file: (if link is "not working" do the following: right click on the link and use "save as", repeat that until it works -normally like 3 times-)
<::> [obsolate] <::> >> (Steam version uses GEMFX)
    2: Unzip
    the installer file.
    3: Start
the installer and point out the location to your Rome Total War II folder (something like D:\STEAM\SteamApps\common\Total War Rome II\).
4: Subscribe GEM on STEAM to download the latest GEM version (gem.pack).

(ToDo for each update on Steam)
    5.1
: Run the R2 launcher to force the gem.pack download/update from Steam.
    5.2
: Run GEMSteamInstaller in your Rome Total War II folder to install/update GEM from the new gem.pack.

    Attention:
    - Win8.1 forces you to use shader version 3 -> Check Optional Files section in this OP for SweetFX1.5.1 + efx-alpha + integration of GEMv4.2
    - If you get a sudden performance impact press the "pause" key of your keyboard to refresh the shader.
    - If you have problems starting the game with SweetFX, check here:http://sweetfx.thelazy.net/?page_id=112.
-- Try also to delete all files (but "save_games" and "replays") in
    C:\Users\[My User]\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2.

You can further adjust your settings or activate other shaders in the "GEM_settings.txt". Also check out the User-Defined-Settings from our users in the "Optional Files & User Settings" section.
I strongly recommend you to use my R2 settings from the Settings section if you want it to look similar to the preview.DEFAULT SETTINGS:

The GEM-HD version is activated by default.
    To
GEM-HBO version you have to open the GEM_settings.txt, change USE_GEMHBO to 1.

    To Uninstall:
Simply delete the dxgi.dll file from your Rome 2 folder

In this section you will find the content of the default GEM_settings.txt. Do not worry cause the shader is complete itself and there will not be much for you to do in the current version.
I suggest you to start the game with the default settings, check what you do not like and then find a value in this section which may help you.
If there is something you want to have changed but cannot change with the following values, post it in this thread and I will try to help.

I love how when they showed us the first carthage video everyone complained about the filter, so they removed it and now one of the first things someone does is put it back on again. Although personally I did like it the filter, hope you get this working, it's maybe a bit too saturated though.

You are right, it is optimized for Shogun 2 and will blast you away there (but wanted to wait for the release until R2).
I cant really tweak it for R2 as long as it is blocked during battles...

It is based on the enbseries as I wrote but that would only allow you to access the renderer pipeline not make it look like this.
You wont find the shader I wrote for the pipeline anywere else.

Posted a few updates in OP post.
I might need to wait until CA released a few fixes because the issue is definitly related to changes within the engine.
It either causes flickering or blocking of additional shader.

ENB is not Rome 2 graphics solution ! JUST SWEETFX can recolor and rebalance it (dont need to change shaders because sweetFX has its own shader)

This, fooled around with Sweetfx in Med 2 and the game looked much better and the colors looked alive! I honestly don't like over saturation of one color though of course it's just my opinion.

Can you post a guide on how you got this, because I can't work it out

Paste it in like you'd do with any ENB config.

Lucifer's version is not yet released but you could try out his Med 2 ones. Copy the contents inside the folder you want to use and paste it in the main directory overriding anything that needs to be overrided.

    Always make backups.

Detailed instructions can be found by googling how to install ENB series.

Again this is [WIP] (work in progress), it is not released yet cause I got issues with the shader during battles.
TWCenter was a pain yesterday due to long loading times but I will reorganize the OP now and let you know how you can help this progress cause I seem not to find any solution to this yet.
