    Default 2 turns per year / 4 turns per year

    Hi folks: this is the first thing I've wanted changed about the game, since generals age and die too quickly to even remotely gain skills or advancement. All this mod does is change the number of turns per year -- it does not alter build or research times, which are still the normal length of turns.

    Note: this mod conflicts with .Mitch's Seleucid unlock mod. I could easily make a compatible version, but I want to get his permission first before I use his work. You'll have to pick one or the other for now (although it's an easy mod to make anyway, so anybody can do it).

    Place the startpos of your choice in the data\campaigns\main_rome folder, making sure to keep a backup of the previous startpos file (note: it will likely be overridden by Friday's patch).

    UPDATE -- to edit startpos.esf yourself or to update an existing save (located in C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Rome2\save_games\) follow the instructions in post #9 , and use EditSF 1.0.7 (created for Shogun 2): http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Block-Entries

    UPDATE --

    Install instructions:
    Inside campaigns.zip, pick the folder for 2 turns per year or 4 turns per year. Once you've chosen, copy and paste the startpos.esf contained in that folder into [Rome II install directory]\data\campaigns\main_rome and replace the original startpos.esf, having made certain you have made a backup of the original startpos.esf first!.

    No, it is not. You have to start a new campaign. It is possible to change existing saves to do the same thing, but it's probably best done with a fresh campaign to avoid weirdness.

    Yeah, I've made a compatible version for my own use but I don't feel comfortable releasing it unless he gives permission since it contains his Seleucid work and all... sigh. Just have to wait a bit, I suppose!

    I suppose I can hang on for it, the turns per year is a major draw back. Incidentally how or where is it edited?

    Same exact way as in Shogun 2: startpos.esf -- > CAMPAIGN_STARTPOS -- > COMPRESSED_DATA -- > CAMPAIGN_ENV -- > CAMPAIGN_MODEL -- > CAMPAIGN_CALENDAR -- > change the first integer from 1 to the number of turns per year that you desire.

    I have tried playing vanilla, it is just too irritating. Need to change stuff

    What else is there to change here that people have discovered? Also, I don't see a problem with a mid-campaign switch. I did it with my unit stacks from 20-40 and no issues at all.

    Thanks alot for this mod, awesome work!

    Does this work in Multiplayer aswell? That is Co-Op multiplayer if both me and my friend have the mod.

    Do this actually influences the types of seasons we can see i.e. four turns, four seasons?

    it was better CA make seasons (spring and fall) like shogun 2 but because of textures the volume raise to 70 gig :O
    but seasons make the game amazing! thanks man your mod is good but maybe in future someone make season textures and import in ROME 2

    Does this affect settlement growth-rates---slowing them down to better reflect 2/4 turns per year?


    Also, will it slow down named character aging?


    Also the technology research rate? Money incomes?
