Thread: Can someone upload the manifest.txt

Default Can someone upload the manifest.txt

located in the /data. I cannot launch the game and where my config file should be there is a .txt called modified.log stating it could not access the manifest.txt, which is really great because it is indeed missing. After creating an empty manifest.txt the file called modified.txt really had a ton of problems. However some processes in the background at least startet now, which was not the case beforehand. So for a couple of people having this issue, getting their hands on that .txt might be all they need. boot.pack unknown file campaigns/main_rome/startpos.esf unknown file campaigns/prologue_01/startpos.esf unknown file campaigns/prologue_02/startpos.esf unknown file campaigns/prologue_03/startpos.esf unknown file data.pack unknown file which easily goes on for what could be every file for rome 2. Since validating the game cache file does not make the manifest.txt data appear I am kind in need of someone else to upload his if I want to get a couple of hours gaming in at all today.

I ran steam as administrator and verified over and over and over The manifest.txt is just plainly missing and the logs show this: Failed to open D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data\manifest.txt for reading! This is the only error message I get. Of course it failed, because the file does not exist. The installation I made is a complete re-install after launch already so it should have come patched anyway. So then how often do you think I need to validate before the file will magically appear? This is exactly why I ask for someone to upload this file, because validation will not care for it. Even having an empty manifest.txt produces better results when starting the game, but when validating the empty file gets green light.

Yes, it is exactly the same here. By the way, great integrity check, Valve!

Hey, I have the same trouble : I just can't launch the game and already verified the game integrity dozens of time (did it also after today's patch download). AND I also have this in the log : "Failed to open C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data\manifest.txt for reading!"PS : First time I install a game and play it only a few days after its release, is it always like this ? Do people really have to wait days to play a game ? What are the pre-order for then ?The irony is ; I saw messages on steam from people who can't play the original version and try the other way to get it to work !?!?

The Game ist a total Desaster like Empire TW...if there are not the Modders like Darth, BSM and all the others.....But iŽll be sure the Rome 2 will be great, may be in 2-3 month...but now......

The manifest.txt was never part of the game install.

For me the game works fine without the manifest.txt .

It also works fine, if i create a blank (empty) manifest.txt file in the correct folder. (use notepad)

Think you should delete the manifest.txt if it exists or try creating a new blank one.
