Your reality sir, is lies and balderdash, and I'm happy to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever!
Luckily I have been sick at home over the weekend so I have been sleeping 12-14 hours a day, that really makes time fly. Now that I'm feeling better I'll be playing payday 2 to pass the time and watching some movies. Then on tuesday I'll wake up, download the day 1 patch while sending the missus to work and the children to the kindergarten. Then I'll sit and play until 5 pm. Take a break when the wife comes back with the kids and back to play at 9 pm when the kids are in bed.

ROME II first. Pumped about GTA V too but I seriously don't want to buy it for my dusty ol' XBOX 360 that really hates me for some reason.
Kinda the same here. I don't know why, but the closer the game comes, the less you're excited to try it out. Really odd, I guess an overload of excitement and waiting time does that to you.

I am pretty excited for Rome II but I will be most likely be playing GTA V a lot more intense. But I will get my money's worth out of both and play them both for a long time. But I am pretty p*d off that the game will be released for PS 3, then proabably later for PC and/or PS 4. Most likely for PS4 first and then PC never or later. I love my PC, but it just is too expensive for most to keep up with the hardware. A normal PC costs 3-4 times what a console costs and that is without monitors and peripherals like keyboards and mouse.
Still in september I will buy and play both and be happy. And I might be happy to buy it later again on PC after a while.

i am having difficulty containing my orgasm....
too many good videogames at once make andre881thebest's marks go lower.
I got overly excited about armaII full box, to play it along with the DayZ stuff (before it was out as standalone) - but it was such a disappointment. It looked cooler on youtube than it was in reality. Figured it wasn't a total waste, at least i could SP it... till i started the SP and had to go through those tutorials.. never got past the tutorials and now it's laying there.. 45 euro's in the corner collecting dust. AI sucks majorly btw - if you complain about TW AI.. then don't try these series.
Then I got extremely overly excited about GW2 - gawt what did that game look so amazingly nice and fun (it still looks graphically amazing btw) - but gee, was the gameplay stale and far from innovative. PvE wasn't rewarding AT ALL and seemed rather repetitive regardless of there 'events' they refuse to call quests. Saying whatever you do has an impact on your surroundings when, in reality, ..it doesn't. On top of the very fast skillusage and the whole shebang.. that's probably one of my biggest disappointments in the gaming industry up to date.
Another 55 euro's collecting dust in the corner.
Then my cousin convinced me to buy Zombie-dunno-what-game to play in coop with his friends. We would buy now, friends would buy after exam. Apparently they changed minds, and so that - too - lays on the sad pile of dustcollecting disappointments.
Regardless of me swearing I will NEVER spend a dime on games ever again (I hardly bought games before the above mentioned) - RTW II has caught me in its trap, so I've pre-ordered. Another 55 euro's.
I hope the game is as fun as medieval II and I hope it doesn't bear the bugs Shogun II had (mind you, i bought that TOO, to co-op with my cousin, only you couldn't co-op shogun due to that massive issue for more than a year and guess what, he lost interest and the SP game is not my style with the whole paper, scissors, rock stuff.. at least in coop you get to play together and have fun that way) so yeah, another one laying there.. but that doesn't bother me that much as I like to have it anyways to complete my TW collection.
All in all, i'm anticipating but not overly exciting. Won't get too disappointed that way.
Hope that anticipation grows into excitement once i get the game running and the more i play it the more rewarding it'll feel so i at least got bang for the buck so to speak.
Maybe I'm just irresponsibly spending euro's on these games, but gee, the whole arma/gw2 ordeal sits still high with me... whenever they mention it i'm liek SHUUUUTUUUUP ARGGANANANANANAN ._.
I'm excited about R2, haven't really read up that much on Arma III - might get it at some point though. As for GTA, I have already tried GTA IV on a PS3 and didn't like it, so I'm going to pass on that game... Give me a shout, when it comes for PC.
R2TW stance: Ceterum autem censeo res publica delendam esse
I agree on GW2, I felt like a proverbial heroin junky after buying it, expecting another WoW 3-years wasted debacle, and being ok with it, but it lasted about 2 months and I've never touched it again. Thing with games is that sometimes they disappoint and then, 2 years later, when you decide to reinstall them, they seem better than before. I have this with Skyrim right now.
Then again, TW games seem the exception to this; they always please me, regardless of which one we're discussing, no matter the bugs. The formula just rocks, its like singleplayer risk, and risk is like tabletop crack, etc.
I know, it's sick.
"I just gotta finish this war. No, wait, i just gotta let the war exhaustion drop and boost my stability for a while. Oh someone got me involved in that conflict, wait i just have to deal with this first so my savegame is nice and peaceful when i come back to it."
5 hours passed.
That said, Planetside 2 flying a Scythe sucks up a lot of hours into the void too.
I am excited, but then again you can't see what I am doing

what is the age rate in the forum? it seems most of people (who posting) working somewhere. Am i the only 18yo who finished school that year?
I have merged two threads that were basically discussing the same thing. This thread is up for casual conversation about Rome II and the wait that we are enduring until it has run its course or is derailed from the topic.
And yes I am very excited as you can imagine.

I just played some turns with battles in STW2 and I was thinking of Rome 2 all the time. I use DarthMod and I love the large start areas it provides. As I was moving my units across the map edge to strategically out flank the defenders I was thinking of the "line of sight" feature in Rome 2. My units lined on the edge of the map and perpendicular across the defenders left flank and moved forward to engage through the woods. The defenders got caught by surprise and scrambled to turn their line to face my army. I had local superiority and destroyed their left flank before the right flank arrived and since the right flank had to move through a routing left flank...the right suffered a moral hit before it came into contact with my army and was then in turn destroyed.....I can't wait to play Rome 2! I am also watching HBO/BBC Rome just to get some Roman flavor...however Polly Walker (Attia) makes me think of other things.....
One thing i don't think their PR was as good as the older titles before the release i didn't see enough sure we had rally point most of it was focused on the guys talking...we have yet to see a proper video which gets down to the nuts and bolts of the game, i would have liked a few more close ups of the units more detail on the building upgrades unit upgrades etc...but i guess a bit of mystery is good and its a bit late now...i reckon we'll just have to find out tomorrow..
Excited enough to stay up. Zero hour Pacific time zone reporting.
I WON THIS BATTLE!
Simple and short answer - no! And Im glad because of this. For some reason I think that it will be the right decision to play RTW than R2TW.
