Roma Surrectum 2.6 patch

Well after hours of trying to figure out why my old copy of Rome would not run at all, much less get to a point where I could install Roma Surrectum II, I find out that the latest Windows update has screwed the pooch. Something to do with removing an old program that older games used for anti piracy protection. So not only does my newly bought steam version of Rome not run RS II but now my old copy of the game itself will no longer run AT ALL.... OH HOW I WANT MY ROME TW BACK!!!! Rome Total War II was complete garbage on arrival and still is. I know RS II is the best there is and now I have no chance of playing. Gutted...

If someone knows a way to get my game to work please by all means let me know. I am always lurking and am dying to play a true Rome Total War game, modded of course.

Yeah, I'm afraid they are gone. Tone was the only one who had the originals, and he has been inactive. I never had them, so I can't replace them.

Hi all.
Just installed new patch 2.6,working great and i have a question.
I am veteran at playing total war,my speciallity is roma surrectum and Rome,but after 2,6 patch the Getic faction seems like terminators.
I have 6 generals with rome elite legions there and if going with my main army (7th star general,all romn elite pretorians,)they lose.

Somebody had any experiences with this thing?

The Getae are better at fighting people with swords than you are. Because they have a lot of people with armor piercing.

Are you auto resolving or playing the battles?

Never had a problem against the Getae but i dont use pretorians ever.
Try different army builds to counter their armies.

Yes, they can be tough - as can many others in their own ways. I've always used 'proper' army compositions; the Praetorians rarely appear except on special occasions and I don't recall any of my testing really getting to use the 'special' manica-equipped legions against the Getae - they are often heavily trounced by others before I can get there.

Perhaps some more detailed description(s) of how you fight them? Although I am greatly encouraged that that you're having a good challenge - otherwise why play...

All the links, except the ModDB one, no longer work...only reason I'm pointing this out is that my one attempt to install 2.6 failed for that file. Please either remove or update the file links, because I REALLY want to get this update, and I have no idea why the ModDB one isn't working.
(issue is that, whenever I try to copy-paste the files, I get a 0x80004005 error code for most of them, mostly the .txt and batch files. Nothing I found on the Internet seems helpful. Has anyone else had this issue?)

MODDB is working for me. I think you need to use 7zip not winrar though.

Not using winrar. Maybe it's my Windows explorer failing? Won't extract properly either.

EDIT: For clarification: Can download the patch, the only issue is the copy-paste. I use Windows 7.

Yep had the same problem. 7-zip fixed the problem for me.

Hi everyone, I've just recently come back to playing Rome: Total War and decided to play this mod (which is amazing BTW) however, the links to the Seleucid and Carthage campaign fix which are posted on the first page do not exist in deposit files anymore. I really want to play these two factions since they are my favorite factions in vanilla. So my question is, is there another working link out there where I can download these fixes or am I doomed to not play my top 2 favorite factions?

If there aren't any alternative links, can someone please be kind enough to upload the said files? Thank you.

P.S. I returned to the forums just for these, so you can imagine how much I love this mod.

I know this may be a bit late but if you have still not got rtw running try this solution. First though I assume you are using the dvd disc version, secondly this does not work on Win 10 you need a different solution. I used this on Win 7 successfully. >> 1) go to desktop and click on start and type cmd in the search box 2) r/click on cmd choose "run as admin" click yes to agree to pc changes 3) a box will appear > type this exactly > sc config secdrv start= auto > press enter > 4) type this exactly > sc start secdrv > press enter, close and try your game
