Protection Error?

I really don't understand every major mod i download never works, but can the guys who made this please tell me why it gets to the screen after the cinematics, freezes, and makes me only able to exit the game using task manager, with an appilcation at the bottom of my screen saying 'Protection Error' which i can't even read because it wont come up. I followed the instructions to the letter.

I had that problem too until I downloaded the patch-then everything worked well.
