Frustrating Problem Please Help.
Im having the same problem that I have had since 5.0. The game starts up ONCE and works fine, then the SECOND time I try to launch it, it just says "Napoleon total war.exe has stopped working". I just installed 5.1 absolutely fine. Started it up with the launcher absolutely fine.
I didnt even start a game! All I did was click through the menus and I didnt change a single setting. I just wanted to see if it would start. About an hour later, I try to start it again and BAM "Napoleon totalwar.exe has stopped working."
How the hell is this possible? How can it work perfectly then for absolutely no reason just refuse to start even though I havent changed anything? I have been unable to play since the mod released and I could really use some help fixing this. I see everybody reporting bugs or saying how much they love the mod so apparently I am the only one who cannot even get it to work.
I have installed all 25GB of napoleon FRESH from steam 4 times now and installed the mod 4 times and the same thing everytime. It works once then "Napoleon total war.exe has stopped working." What am I supposed to do?
Thank you.

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
Someone else told me they had the same problem, can't remember who, but his fix was to delete his preferences.script.txt file, absolutely no idea why this fixes it.
Here:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
Can you post a picture of your data directory and your "The Great War/Files" directory, preferably after the problem occurs? Thanks

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
I have the same problem..start the mod with mod manager because the launcher CUTS the files in data folder and the FILES folder of the mod will remain empty.

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
I honestly don't know what to say, you have all of the required files and they are all in the right place, and the launcher works for you, all be it only on the first launch. The files are being put back correctly after closing the game too, as they are back in your Files folder. This is totally puzzling to me.

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
It is puzzling to me as well
Maybe since I recently installed napoleon from steam its not up to date or something? Were there patched released for Napoleon that were not included by steam?

Re: Frustrating Problem Please Help.
Are you able to launch Napoleon vanilla OK? Is this just an issue with TGW?
