How did you get so big manpower if i may ask?I play byzantium as well although with byzantine traditions and i think i have more land than this but still i have 300k manpower not 570k
From the tooltip:
Base value: 1000
From provinces: 57000
Conscripts: +25%
Levee en masse: +50%
Lack of Piety: +25%
Devshirme System: +10%
Theme System: +25%
That's how I get that ridiculous MP pool. All provinces have at least a lvl2 military building. Anatolia has regimental camps (improving it swiftly).
''Holy hell that Scythe is overpowerd! Death should be nerfed!''
Quantity is only there for the forcelimits, MP recovery and cheaper units. Also I just wanted to see how big I could make my MP pool. In a multiplayer game I would probably have picked quality.

I've found out that discipline, morale and terrain bonuses mean little when the AI gets favored with the rolls and has better generals. Most of my battles so far have either been close calls or defeats even though I would have terrain advantage and higher discipline, morale and other things. SO I'd probably prefer quantity and administrative so I can put up a new army when my previous one gets wiped out.

Yesterday as Yemen I was fighting Hedjaz who had the same land tech level, a relatively similar skilled general and a slightly bigger army. But due to the dice roles I managed to win the battle (but that didn't stop Oman ). There is sometimes a lot of luck in the game.
EU4 wiki:
Common misconceptions
The AI does not:
Cheat with dice rolls, not even Lucky Nations. If you believe this to be the case, you are experiencing confirmation bias (ie you notice the times it rolls well a lot more than you notice the times you yourself do)
I tend to roll low when I'm playing warhammer, doesn't mean the other players are always cheating.
Proud Nerdimus Maximus of the Trench Coat Mafia.
It's either perception kicking in, with you remembering the bad rolls more than the good; or that you're basing it on a small sample of notable battles which isn't representative enough. Trust me when I say that I've been playing long enough to know there's no AI cheating involved here!

Just finished my byzantium game post 1.3.After a very tough start i managed to get my empire going and slowly made a huge part of eastern europe and west asia mine.I could have expanded more but the ai's behaviour ruined my plans.Spain France and Russia put me as their rivals and for whatever reason spain always stayed in the coalition against me even after the aggressive expansion went to 0.As soon as i made the mistake of taking more than 1 region in a peace treaty half of europe joined a coalition against me and with russia as warleader they lasted for years. They need to change the way coalitions work because right now you could be slaughtering all the members and just because you cant reach the warleader you need to wait him to be bored of the length of the war and agree to peace.
Anyway as far as stats are concerned i had 416k max manpower and quality, offensive and defensive ideas.

And my progress at establishing greeks as the dominant culture in europe.Hopefully this work will be completed on victoria 3 perthaps
That Greek culture spread is quite funny. I do enjoy seeing huge, homogenous culture blobs for whatever reason.

Did Austria not break you for expanding into the HRE?
