Installation problem, help pls.

Hi.

Just dl'd and installed the mod as per the instructions in another thread here, installed the new patch and created a shortcut... all going smoothly, then i try to start it and i get told that the MSS32.dll is missing and i should attempt to re-install.

I'm gonna try and find that .dll on the web but, being a bit of a noob to modding...my queston is, where does it belong? What folder etc.

Thanks in advance for the help, looking forward to getting up and running.

its in the RTW folder. Just open the primary file in Vanilla and you'll see it. Copy and paste it where it belongs. I believe you that you have done everything right. I have no explanation. Needless to say that its not only strange that this file is missing, but weird, mysterious, freaky and probably also cranky, if not perverted. In other words: wtf? Aw, well there are certain secrets in the universe, mankind will never be able to understand.

Just pasted it over from Vanilla and still when i fire up the shortcut, it tells me it can't find it.

Hmm.

I'll uninstall and then re-install:

Just to be sure.

1. Open Arthur mod folder and copy all files.
2. Open RTW folder
3. Paste said files, yes to all when asked to overwrite.
4. Install mini patch, yes to all.
5. Create shortcut.
6. click and play.

Alas, still no joy.

I'm stumped. Guess i'll have to wait til the next release.

Der_Zenturio, i have used the Search function on that friggin file and apparently there are several similar problems with other mods or whatever. I think you have a good chance to find a solution there. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/searc...earchid=517484 Search the stuff in the Technical Help center.

Ok, phew...got it working and boy am I glad i didn't give up! Kudos for an incredible piece of modding.or should that be total conversion! Speechless!

Ok, just in case anyone else has this problem in the future, the solution is:

Before you install the mod move both the Rome.exe and the BI.exe from the RTW directory to C://somewhere_safe
then install the mod and finally move the exes back into the RTW folder and bingo, it works.

Right, civic duty done, i'm back off to play!!
