We have Polybios to thank for the phrase 'imitation Legionaries' or 'Agyraspidai equipped in the Roman fashion' It has also been pointed out that Antiochos IV was impressed with Roman martial prowess and so began to copy some Roman ideas, including a temple of JOM in Antioch. But it could be that Polybios is describing Thorakitai essentially soldiers carrying Thureos, spear and swords wearing mail

Argyraspides will come in two forms - the elite phalanx with sarissa and silver shield, and the heavy infantry with sword, javelin and thureos

Can some of these be available for Seleukids. There seems to be a shortage of units for Seleukids. Need Hypastitai, Thorakitai, Argyraspidai Thorakitai, Agema cavalry etc
