Anybody who plays the game with a modern orchestral music sound track playing in the background. Ancient battles didn't have that. Ludicrous.

Man, gotta love it when video games have "breaches in reality." Man, oh man.
Worst breach of reality?, I dunno.
Worst breach of common sense must be this thread tho.

Worst breach of reality?
People unable to accept the reality and fact that this is a video game, as someone said in one of the Videos, and is aimed at maximizing fun while maintaining as much accuracy/authenticity as possible, without limiting said gameplay.
If it was down to history hard-ons here it would be twenty Hellenistic factions poking each other with pikes and bearded face-masks all day.
In every video I have seen except the Carthage trailer (and gameplay), the ships are like rockets.
They are, in fact, faster than the steamships of Fall of the Samurai, when they are supposed to be powered by oars. In a recent video posted on the Pictures and Videos thread, it turns out that ships are faster than cars!
From looking it seemed like a slow generic ship, norm of the era. But when it moved, it seemed like it is a modern replica that has jet-powered engine and speedboat-propellers beneath it. And that was just a transport ship, I hate to imagine how fast the 'light' ships would be then.
CA should change the speed and make it far slower. It should really be toned down. The speed shown in Carthage battle looked fine. The one in Nile was a bit too fast....but that video really showed that the oar-powered ship was like a rocket.
What is the community opinion on this?

Could you post a vid please, havent seen any significant naval footage since nile
Sorry but I don't agree. Even in the Battle of the Nile the ships weren't moving very fast. Even if they are moving a little too fast I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt until I play it. I imagine ships could go fast enough with three, four, or even five banks of oars.
They do seem fast, but don't forget that absolute realism would mean really slow battles, at least an hour long. Ain't nobody got time for dat.
I am not asking for absolute realism, I am just asking for them to be toned down to at least the level of Empire or Napoleon's ships. They worked fine, neither those ships were too fast nor too slow. Most of all, that speed was enjoyable.
