Default Usage of formations and how soldiers use to fight in formations?

We had testudo on cohorts, phalanxes, wedges on cavalry in Rome 1

Is there any footage that shows us HOW the soldiers and the battles will perform in Rome 2? I am asking that because of a very certain reason:
In Shogun 2 they introduced a lot of motion captured 1v1 action and we need that completely different in Rome 2.

At least the Romans had a very disciplined way of fighting and there were normally no loose 1v1 fights but use of formations and tactics:

Like testudo, triangle line (how they used to smash Boadica's soldiers), maniple tactics etc etc., wedge formation on cavalry

Can anyone tell us something about that how it works in Rome 2?
What happened to phalanxes? Can they form up properly now in a deep and tight formation? Will we see phalanx or shield circles?
Thanks for any founded information. We are 4 weeks before release and oughta know what we buy now. Would be cool if CA is telling us something about that aswell.

Don't hold me to this, but I'm pretty sure in one of the Nile videos, Al hovered over a formation button for a unit and a whole bunch of options came up. From what I can remember, those icons did not look like formations for a group of units, more like formations for a single unit. I do have faith that units will have multiple formations.

When it comes to what formations we will be seeing, we can expect the basics most certainly, like Testudo (I think not-optional because it looked automated in Teutoberg gameplay), Phalanx, shield wall etc.

Yes, the Romans did fight in a group. They only fought 1 vs 1 if their cohesion was broken. An example of Roman group fighting in Rome 2 can be found in the Rezzed Nile footage (Rezzed Version only). If you look at when the Romans were making it up the hill, before Al opens up the tactical map, you can see an Egyptian archer unit fighting with a Roman unit who is in formation. The Romans were thrusting into the Archers.

Plenty of evidence if you look around. Just no real emphasis on them by CA when it comes to showing us.
I personally invite you to check out my complete combat overhaul which will give you a completely new Rome 2 experience:

The one on one fights have been in total war since Empire, not like shogun was first to do it. They are using motion capture again to make fighting look realistic, but you can see in the vids that they don't charge through formations and do one on one fights anymore.

Thanks good to hear this and I still wonder why they did not focus on it but take this as a drive by
